Cheers for the replies
I had considered pouring them in a bucket but
As stated about the introduction of oxygen thought the bottle method may be best
Was wondering if any one else had the same issue and what method they had tried

Have a bottled imperial stout been bottled since begining of April so only looking at 6 months I know is young
Tried a bottle and it is really sweet and no gas
Am assuming yeast has run out of steam I did have a bit of a stall in the fermentation process but managed to get it going again
But...
Looking to get a thermometer for checking the temp of my water
Only doing small batch stove top at the minute
So have seen a feel on eBay
One a stick the other a one has a wired probe
Which do you recommend
Cheers

Maybe as the pre filled kegs are ment as a single use they don't last
Where as the bought unused kegs are of a designed with reuse in mind

Yes mine was up to Los then collapsed pretty quick that should be it for the big krausen
Mine started sweet then tasted of strong alcohol taste then mellowed
Mine started at 1.096 and went in bottle eventually at 1.030
Should be good by Christmas ðŸËâ¬

I brewed this myself and had a problem of a stuck fermentation
I managed to kick start it again but after a chat on here and my lhbs I would advise using a different yeast
Check my thread on stuck imperial stout not to far down in kit brewing
Think mangrove jacks was recommended on here...
I know in pubs the use a filter that is similar
But they are minded the other way up
So liquid in the top and purges the air /gas as it fills

Seen a few videos online where the fist wort run off is gently added back until the wort runs clear as well as your sparge water
To aid in filtering any solids out of the wort
