Great advice. I have been looking at this for a while. I am more than happy with my digital jobbie for my boiler but have not been happy taking the lid off my MT.
Parts ordered and lets see...

I would be a little concerned about leaving it open as homes aren't as dust/dirt free as a brewery. As a rule of thumb, loosely covered it fine as long as insects don't get in. I only use airlocks as it is easier to clip a lid on and push an airlock in. It also makes it easier to monitor how...
NI brewers unite!
I have been tempted on many occasions to try and start and NI based homebrew internet company as I am fed up with paying through the nose for P&P. I have found the homebrew company to be inconsistant at times but it beats paying a fortune!
I have recently been let down...
Nice!
Tool Station have taken a bit of a hit from me and I am waiting for delivery. Not sure yet if I will use a copper drain for braid yet. Bought a bit of a job lot to build 2 MT's too. Will post a pic once it is here.
Thanks again. :drink:
Genius work on the heating and valuable stuff on the electrical safety, but can I ask a bone question about 'drainage'.
I can't see a tap of any description on the pictures or an added filtration kit (copper pipe or steel braid). Did you have anything or will a bog standard plastic tap work...
Cheers Keith.
I thought that there was some underpinning logic here. Building stuff for fun then realy!
Having woken up this morning 'fresh' from testing a rather cheeky Red it appears that I have already bid on a 50 Litre pan from the same place on thier german ebay site. If I...
Advice from the brewing demi-Gods please.........
I am looking at moving to AG brewing and I have been looking at building a boiler from a converted FV (kettle elements etc). Randomly wandering around town I saw one of those single plate electric cooker hob element things going for a song...
A slightly bone question here with respect to kettle elements....
If a Kettle is designed to turn off when the water hits boiling point, how does a kettle element boiler produce a sustained rolling boil?
Is is simply that the volume of water stops it actually exceededing boiling point or is...
I use the labelizer site foir my beer but I haven't found anything as good for wine.
Besides, as wine takes that much more effort in the making, I think that is justifies the effort!
:P
I have an agreement with a restaurant that I pass on the way to work that they don't mind me raiding thier recycling bin. I was working on the theory that a restaurant probably produces a more regular stream of wine bottles than a pub.
Seems to be working so far and I am getting 20+ a week or so.
