Hi all,
I have a friend who has an allotment and has offered to grow some hops for me. Neither of us know anything about growing hops and I have never used whole hops so it would be a bit of an experiment for both of us. First question is where do you get hop plants from and what variety to...
What, this stuff? I think the pint in the ad has ideas above it's station. More like the pint that thinks it 3 gallons!

From the Stranglers song Hanging Around. Got the barley fever = under the influence. Seemed to fit well with the subject matter. Not that I would ever over indulge though!!
My first brew was with one of those Home Brew Depot kits, a bare minimum of equipment and no idea what I was doing. :wha: Mine also stopped bubbling after a couple of days and I though it was going to be a disaster. Turned out OK though. Not great but not too bad either.
Definitely stick...
Worst thing I ever had was in Canada. Bud light lime. It was an affront to humanity and left me genuinely offended. Who would have thought Bud could be made any worse than it already was.
Thanks Guys,
I liked the look of the Sanbri on mentioned by Vinotinto as it's all metal and should last forever. I found a decent looking one on BIN on ebay and so went for it.
Thanks for the offer Jaffa91 but I doubt I'd have anything you would need in exchange.
Cheers :thumb:
Can anyone advise me on a decent corker that doesn't cost a fortune? Had one of those cheap red plastic ones which split last time I used it. Any recommendations would be gratefully received.
Cheers.
Seem to have plunged headlong into the world of brewing at home so..... May well have the T-Shirt!
And if there's a choice of colour......I'll have beer stained. :thumb:
My first AG efforts were cloudy too. Still tasted good and that's what it's all about in my book. Cloudy beer is not bad beer. Tasty beer is good beer.
