I've used them before in dark milds but only in small quanities.....
never thought of that before, so i could do my normal 10 lt biab but then dilute it down after the boil to say 18-20 lts depending on how much grain i used in the first place i guess?? something you don't read of in the books. Brilliant
i have to have a go at this :thumb::thumb:
i guess your...
yeah something deceptively strong. perhaps a strong golden ale bulked up with sugar. perhaps IBUs of around 30 (not too bitter for his young, unexperienced taste buds)
might be best to go down the extract route, won't be cheap to make but cheaper than buying it. I did two extract lager brews over winter...I used a combination of extra light extract (dme) and pale malt extract. You could use all extra light extract (dme) to say around the 8% mark then add sugar...
I've used lager malt for an IPA which turned out very nice, hoping to get going with a session IPA soon. i'll probs used marris otter for that though
tried the golden ale last night, same again :thumb: sulphur ish taste gone. lovely hoppy smooth session beer at 3.6%. used cascade and chinook. :thumb:
