Toffee coloured beer, nay Muntons Smugglers Bitter

A two part question if anybody can help….. I place some Muntons Smugglers Bitter in a conditioning barrel at the beginning of October this was after it being in a fermentation bucket for 8 days. I then placed in a pressure barrel mid November so it would be ready for Christmas but at the...

    Screw Tops

On the wine front I have started using the screw tops from old wine bottles after I have washed and sterilised them. Does anybody know if you can buy new? I have done five batches of 30 bottle kits with no problem.

On the positive side the wine made a good Coq Un Vin in fact quite excellent washed down with two bottles of Rioja that was only three months old.

Selection Vieux Chateau Du Roi 30 Bottle kit

    Wilko own brand wine

Sorry to say that's the one I tried, it's ok and like the wine kit you would buy 25 years ago. Don't let this put you off, try a Muntons kit. :thumb:

    Wilko own brand wine

I have tried the Wilko own brand wine kits and I was not impressed with the quality, had it not been for a friend brewing a Beaverdale Barolo kit I would have returned the old Demi John back to the garage. The wine did not goto waste as I use it for cooking. :drunk:

Selection Vieux Chateau Du Roi 30 Bottle kit

Has anybody tried the more expensive wine kits such as the Selection Vieux Chateau Du Roi 30 Bottle kit @ £68.35 is the extra money worth it. This just could be a silly question but I thought I would ask... I have been more than pleased with the wine of the kits costing £39.00 can it get any...
