Hi guys, I've just fermented out a coopers stout for 2 weeks and was looking at adding 400ml bourbon and 2 tblsp of vanilla before bottling. I would love any advice before I start.
Thanks :drunk:
Thanks for all the great tips guys and will keep you up to date with my first Biab brew. Just finishing buying all the equipment needed.
Happy brewing cheers
Hi guys. I've just bought myself a 32 litre stainless pot looking to move from kits to biab. I'm struggling to find any good biab calculators. Any help, hints or tips would be much appreciated.
I had mine in primary for 2 weeks ( as with all my brews). Then started to follow the instructions from there. This was one of my favourite kits to date. :thumb:
My first of the new coopers range was the heffe wheat beer. Brewed to labelled instructions. Bottled after 2 weeks in fv. It's six weeks old now and in my opinion I would say it was just ok. Drinkable but nothing special.
Next I brewed the Devils half ruby porter. Brewed to instructions...
Fermentation finished. F.G 1010 so my ABV 4.7% . Tasted the trial jar and very happy with the taste so far. After priming and bottling it should be roughly 5% of lovely golden ale. Should be good round about April time. This weekends kit will be a bulldog bad cat imperial red ale. This one comes...
Hi guys. Just brewed the coopers apa kit with 500g dry light malt extract and 500g of hopped dry malt extract.
S.G 1046
Just took a hydrometer reading and sitting at 1012 after 10 days. Still getting a bubble every minute or 2. Will check again at 14 days. Rough temperature of 20-22c. Trial...
Update. Tried a bottle of my courage directors to see if any different to my last taste test. Holly s**t what a difference. Beautiful pint. Crystal clear and tastes amazing guys. Would highly recommend this kit.
Thanks for the advice guys. I don't think it's a bad taste and I do think it is what they call the "homebrew twang". Will see if it improves in time. Will leave till Xmas time. My fermentation temp was a constant 20oC. I think I calculated the Abv 4.9%.
I have a festival razorback IPA bottled...
Has anyone had any experience of brewing this kit? I've had it bottled for just under 2weeks. I tried one last night and had an original bottle to compare it to. Tastes nothing like the original. Has that homebrew funky taste I remember back when my dad did a homebrew.
Just cracked open a bottle after 1 week and I must say it's really nice. Very hoppy and very little bitterness. Looking forward to the next few weeks. Very close too brewdog punk IPA.
My AIPA has been in the fv for 21 days with the air lock bubbling every 30 secs. I checked the s.g today witch was at 1010 but it still has a massive foamy head. I've had a steady temp of 18c through out. Does this sound about right?
