    Hi, Cumbria checking in here.

Hi Wez, welcome to the forum!

    Normal? Infected?

Ok, so probably not to do with the temp you transferred, as the break material will have formed and dropped. It could then be because the hops weren't loose in the copper, and therefore no natural filter to stop the break material being transferred to the FV? I can't think what else it could...

    Normal? Infected?

Hi. If the gravity is on the move, I'd be tempted to leave it be. There is of course a chance that, if the yeast you pitched has died, then it is a wild yeast that is now active! See how it develops. Others will tell you different i.e. transfer and repitch. It's your call. Also, I think...

    Back for another go!

Good on ya! I'm sure you can brew something tasty. Were/are you brewing AG? (full mash). What sort of budget do you have?

    Normal? Infected?

That doesn't look right. Have you tasted it? What does it smell like? I'd want to be sure it's recoverable before wasting good yeast

Best home brew related purchase you have made?

Starsan is a popular choice. Bottling wand also a good call. My Thermomite thermometer has been brilliant too.

What could I brew with these left-overs?

Hi. I would say a Black IPA...use all of your hops up...using the Simcoe and Amarillo late in the boil or dry in the fermenter. How much DME are you planning to use? If it were me, i'd get my new order delivered and buy the pale malted barley needed to make it an AG :)

I haven't posted on the forum for a while, but want to get back into it, so here goes. Brewday yesterday, and it’ll be my entry for the Great British Homebrew Challenge 2013 http://www.gbhomebrew.co.uk/Home.html. I wanted to brew a strong bitter, but as a meddling homebrewer I also want to...

Abbey Amber 11/04/12 + Pics & now with brett

Lucky enough to try a bottle of this. A beer reminiscent of Orval with a fruity, tart finish....fantastic 'Belgian' aroma, bravo Neil!

    AG#11 Broadford Belgian Pale Ale

No sorry, they just gave us the grain and hop varieties :( Glad you think it has a chance of working well though. The FV smells of the columbus rather than the banana heavy yeast, which is a start!
