    starting my first brew.help

Hi, Normal conditioning temperatures are around 18c for bitter. Not 100% sure on extract brewing, started straight on grain, but generally I would do primary for about 7 days (20c <)(until most of the fermentation stops), decant into a pressure barrel for about a month to condition and...

    Bag in a Box usage

Tried using the boxes twice now, and they worked out fine, I would say better for occasion, managed to keep one chilled in a fridge for about 3 weeks with no noticeable difference. But just recently bought grolsh type bottles from the range £10 for 12 x 500ml brown so not so sure at present if...

Wheat Beer (Bier) 100% Wheat, rice husks

Hi, The Mrs has a Barley allergy, so would like to make her a 100% wheat beer, here it can clog the filter when mashing though so seen on one video to use rice husks, have not seen any available online from googling, Can anyone recommend a source or a substitute?

    Bag in a Box usage

Reply from supplier re pressures: Beer effervesces, the CO2 goes into the headspace and inflates the bag. The plastic allows 4-5 cm3 of CO2 through a M2 of film in a 24hour period at normal conditions (23C, 1bar) thus it will inflate the bag. Essentially if you rack the beer & keep it at cellar...

    Best bitter from Grain

Hi, Have a very simple setup, and working from The CAMRA book at the moment, made a few brews already but this is the first one I've filmed, its in two parts (maybe I go on a little). Anyway, measured the temperature on the summer lightening clone I did the other day, with prewarming I did...

    Bag in a Box usage

No, You can just open the tap and pour it straight into a glass, the only advantage I suppose with a pump is you can add a spinkler ?

    Bag in a Box usage

Non, You will need to re carbonate when you serve it tinyurl[dot]com[dash]c5k6wdf, since there is no oxygen/air in bag its not an issue with it going off.

    Bag in a Box usage

I've seen some homebrew shops selling them in singles but up to £5 each, I bought 10 and it came to about £4.80 a box (10l plain white ones), from reading around if you look after them you can reuse the bags/boxes about 2/3 times, so £2.40, £1.20 a go, perhaps you could approach a local home...

    Bag in a Box usage

Thanks for your feedback, with a pumped solution there are attachments for connecting the system in (at bottom of linked page), where do you get hold of hand pumps?

    Bag in a Box usage

Hi, I've just ordered some of these in the 10l size baginboxonline[dot]co[dot]uk[slash]buyit1.html and wondering if anyone has any experience with using them, I don't need the beer to be carbonated and i'm guessing that as long as all the secondary fermentation and curing is over I wont be...
