Yes ...the finings are to help clear the wine once fermentation has stopped.. if you have a hydrometer check the levels over a few days ..when they are the same fermentation has stopped...but as its still bubbling i would leave it a bit longer .. wilko instructions are just a guide
Its the tea towel that goes over the oven door handle and hangs down nicely... never used for its purpose but decoration... but awfully handy place to have one in an emergency..
Used a piece of hose and plugged it into a bung and used a second dj as a bubbler... worked a treat
ok ... just racked back into a clean dj and bubbling once a second or 2. Horizon looking a damn sight better than the bubbly mess it was ....fingers crossed for the morning..
just looked at my pineapple wow and its gone ballistic.. its blown the top off the bubbler and made a right mess in the cupboard .... and the missus just moaned at me for using her best tea towel to wrap round the dj ..

My first batch of home brew wine has now been bottled.. ORANGE WOW ... and wow it tastes amazing.. with hardly any aging i am very impressed, even more the missus is impressed to..now thats hard to do. i cant wait for it to age a few months and try some more ... didnt quite fill 6 bottles so 5...
Just tried to make up some bentonite to clear some wine ... is it supposed to end up like clay .. i didnt use it as i thought it might make it worse ...
how and when are you supposed to use it .. ??
So if its just scaling up is that for all the chemicals? for example Glycerine will be 5 tsp and tannin 2.5 tsp, sugar x5 and juices x5. Thinking of doing a 5gal orange wow
Thought i would give the wilko cab sauv a go ... all racked and clearing, but gravity reading is fixed at 996. How can i get it up to 1.000 so it is drinkable... do i top it up with a sugar mix ?
on the other hand my 1st go at orange wow is looking good and tastes amazing for my first go at...
