I tried my first bottle of this last night, two weeks after bottling. Absolutely delicious, my best brew so far. It was crystal clear - I used protofloc and fermented with US-05, and didn't dry hop until fermentation was over.

I'm bottling my first batch of the totally tropical tomorrow, having stuck to the recipe completely. It already smells and taste amazing, can't wait to see what it's like after conditioning for a few weeks.

Assuming this doesn't get deleted... I made that beer in my Grainfather yesterday. Once the boil was over I recirculated the wort for 5 minutes to sterilise the chiller, then turned on the cold water while still recirculating. It only took a few minutes to get down to 79C, when I added aroma...

Well, I got a bit impatient and opened up a bottle after two weeks. It was great to drink my first ever bottle of home brew - realising that I'd made a real beer! It's coming along nicely, a lot clearer than it was, and going down very smoothly. I'm looking forward to giving it time to clear out...

I have a spare freezer with room enough for a fermenting vessel. Is there any reason I shouldn't use it with Inkbird + heating element to control the fermenting temperature, or do I need to use a fridge?

It was very cloudy when bottled; I hope that'll all clear out over the next few weeks.

Hello all! I am very new to brewing - I've just bottled my first brew, a St Peters Ruby Red Ale kit beer. I'm planning to make a few more kit beers to get used to the process, then move into all-grain brewing when I'm comfortable it. I have a lot to learn!
