I thought it was quite drinkable actually, but not what I was after from a Pear Cider. I was advised to only add half the sachet of the pear flavouring, so that might be why I could tolerate the flavour more. I do understand what you mean by chemically though as it makes it taste like pear...

I was just looking at this kit. The last Czech Pils I tried was the Brewers Choice a dry kit + hop tea system, and I wasn't overly impressed with the resulting beer.. Although I have a feeling it would have been better if I had done a proper boil. Is this kit a pre-hopped malt extract? Just...
