Hey Andy, I am from Hull also and have just done my first AG brew which was easier than I thought and went really well,produced much better beer than extract definatly just go for it. if you want to split costs and buy a 25kg sack of malt between us I would be up for that to save us having more...

As pittsy said it could be different growing areas or the year of harvest, you could use either at the start or for aroma just adjust the amounts used, but check which is from the latest harvest... which ever you go for hope its a good brew :thumb:
You just have to read up on each variety and pick which suit your growing conditions and taste! or if unsure as Bebop1980 said buy 1 of each, you cant go wrong
I made it before and it took months before it was drinkable, the pear taste was really false and chemically. I forgot about it and came back to it after about 10 months and it was actually nice! but not worth the time it took, the other magnum kits are better and havnt taken as long to become...
I am currently building an AG setup, done a few kits went on to extract I wouldnt mind getting a demo of an AG brew from someone local before I finish my setup maybe someone could do a demo day!
