    Shed base

Are the slabs ok just to rest on the sand then or do they need cementing in?

    Shed base

I'm in the process of getting a 7ftx5ft shed and was wondering what people thought of a railway sleeper base? The shed will only be used to store general garden things and a bit of homebrew so I'm thinking it doesn't need to be anything to heavy duty? Ive been quoted £250 for a concrete base...

Very first brew, flat as a pancake.

If it tastes nice why not drink it as it is instead of binning it! Try using a pocket beer engine (calpol syringe) this is what I do.

    Milton to steralise?

I've used Milton to sterilise my FV and siphon hose for years without rinsing and never had an issue, I sterilise the FV and let it drain on the sink for 10 mins or so then do a kit in it.

    wilko Mexican cerveza

Just finished drinking this and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brewed it with Tate and Lyle to 20 litres and left in the cold for 2 weeks and I thought it was a very enjoyable pint :drink:

    what water is best?

I've been using the cheap 17/18p 2 litre bottles of water for a few years now with no problems whatsoever. I also use the empty 2 litre bottles when bottling, saves steralizing loads of smaller bottles.

    Camps chicory coffee essence

I bought some of the £2.74 kits tesco had and I was wondering if I could use it in one of the bitter kits. Has anyone ever used it before? If so when would you use it, would you put it in the fv or add it when priming?

how close do you stick to the beer kit instructions

My brewing routine is very basic and simple. All I do is boil 1 kettle of water and dissolve normal sugar in the water in the FV, boil the kettle again and mix this in the FV along with the can kit. I leave it for 10-14 days in the kitchen, don't bother with any readings, then I bottle into...

    Re: Willco's hoppy copper.

Just bottled this tonight after 10 nights in the fv, brewed it with 500grams brewing sugar and 500grams of Tate n lyle and got to say its tasting quite good! I'll leave it a week in the spare room and a week or two outside then I'll be tucking in I reckon after I've finished the Wilkos stout...

How long do you wait before drinking your brew

I normally do 2 brews a month to keep the supply going so the oldest I drink tend to be 7/8 weeks old at the mo but it goes down so easy.....

How long do you wait before drinking your brew

The general feeling on the forum seems to be after a couple of months or so, but from start to finish I'm drinking mine after 3 1/2 weeks to the 4 week mark. I tend to go for the cheaper end of the market kit wise to keep the cost down as with a 9 month old in tow can't afford to sup in pubs...
