This has to be one of my favourites to date. Which means I'm either easily pleased and happy with the end result, or, I need to do some experiment with some more kits. I think the latter sounds better
I found it quite hoppy once it was done. At £9.50 it might be worth doing one batch following the instructions and then do another with added hops if your taste buds feel the need for it.
I stayed with what the instructions stated and it has turned out pretty good. A lot stronger than my last brew that was UBC surfers reward.
It's not what I would class as a session beer as it's too strong but none the less is still a good beer for the money.
Sounds like the perfect time to start a brew with an active toddler and pregnant wife
I started a Wherrys on Saturday but just with the kit. SG was 1050 in the FV aka bucket with lid (non air lock). Initially I thought it was going to pop the lid and overflow but it soon...
Decided to give it a go after just posting this.
Transferred it from the FV to PB after 3 weeks. Had a quick taste as you do. It was quite nice. Can't wait for this to be ready
In case anyone is interested and looking to do one of these ....
It's been in the PB for 3 weeks. Tried some today as I'd also PB a John Bull IPA and set up a new one of Wherry in the FV.
Tasted nice but was very flat. Had a quick search and have now resealed the Surfers PB as it pin...
Put it in the PB yesterday. Tried some at the same time. A bit cloudy as expected although the taste was pleasant and had a honey taste - to me it did but my son said different.
I didn't do a hydrometer reading before, but did one yesterday and it was 1010.
I didn't realise or know the Hop Inn did home brew stuff as I pass that way quite often.
I'm near Hook.
I took a trip down to Aldershot today for a few bits and pieces. Also popped into Wilkos in Basingstoke as there doing 25% off at the moment.
Bought this kit and it's now been in the FV for 10 days even though it states 4-6. Temperature has been a constant 17/18 degrees, so it should be ready for the next step soon?
