    Homemade yogurt

All you need is a large jug...warm a pint of milk so the chill is off it. Put into said jug and mix it with a tablespoon of natural yoghurt. Put into your airing cupboard and cover with a towell. Next morning you will find a pint of yoghurt.. Easy

    Bread baking

In my mind the Panasonic's are definately the one to go for. They seem to mix (knead) better than the others

My first brew - Coopers Lager

but I can't keep my place cold enough sadly... I think we both need a brew fridge. I bought the heater and the temp controller already but cant find a fridge big enough on fleecycle. I will keep looking :!:

My first brew - Coopers Lager

I bottled mine about 4 weeks ago using 1 1/2 carb drops per 500ml bottle and I find it a little flat. Also, more dissapointing is the taste. Its more like a cross between lager and bitter. Darker than lager but lighter than bitter. SWMBO (the lager drinker) doesn't like it, so I will have to...

    Hate sterilising

In my opinion, for what its worth, is to add another 25g. I'm conditioning a lager at the moment and believe me, flat beer tastes terrible.

Coopers lager flat as a far...sorry pancake

Bit early for me to 'test' another one. I will try one tonight and get back to you. Funny thing is, I bottled on a Saturday evening, and being tight, I squeezed the last drop out of the FV and managed to half fill the last bottle together with some sediment. Thought I'd give it a taste on the...

Coopers lager flat as a far...sorry pancake

Well, I emptied the bottle just before I went to bed last night expecting a layer of sediment and guess what...hardly a thing. Is this to do with the warm temp. not being warm enough, or something else. Is there anything else I can do to save my pride. Beer tastes fine. :?

Coopers lager flat as a far...sorry pancake

First brew in FV for 17 days. Bottled with carbonation drops one and a half to a 500ml bottle and kept in a warm place for 14 days. Just getting ready to move to a cool place and thought I'd try one. A very small hiss and the beer is virtually flat, just a few small bubbles  I know its a...

    Bottle or batch condition?

Thanks very much for clearing that up. Any idea on this one? In light of the above, how do the pro's get lager into bottles with carbonation and no sediment??

    Bottle or batch condition?

However a lot of the sediment can be removed if you rack your brew into a 2nd FV for a week prior to bottling and let it clear there. Hello PD, Just read the above and I am confused :? I assume by this that you batch prime into a second FV and leave it a week then bottle. If this is right...

Bugger!!! Brew fridge is too small.

Just started to get into beer making, Second kit is on. I decided to get a beer fridge for temp. control. Put a call out on Freecycle and got one straight away. Ordered a STC1000 and a tubular heater off E-bay. so far so good. I tried an empty FV for size and guess what. My FV's are from the...
