    RIS Fermentation issues

Followed the instructions on the Wyeast smack pack and it appeared to have activated with the pack bulging prior to putting it into the FV, but having not used them before I have limited confidence in it. Looks like off to the LHBS on Tuesday.

    RIS Fermentation issues

Yesterday I brewed a BIAB RIS from the Greg Hughes brew book and hit the starting gravity of 1080. Having transferred it into the FV I added a Wyeast London ale yeast smack pack. It's been 24 hrs and still no activity from the airlock, any suggestions? As I'm concerned I have placed the FV on a...

    Beer in Amsterdam

Been a few times and my go to bars are in order of preference are In De Wilderman, Café De Dokter, and Gollem Beer Café. If you are looking for lots of quality beers bottled and on tap In De Wilderman is a must, great for Belgium beers. Have a look on TripAdvisor at these. Have a great...

    What are you drinking tonight?

Just had a M&S Jester single hop ale, followed by an All grain Belgium Blond (Malt Miller kit). Saved the best for last. :thumb:

    Next kit brew

If you want to get a quick brew on to fill a keg try a Cooper's Australian Pale ale, add a Cascade hop tea, and dry hop with Cascade. Result a great, easy drinking hoppy IPA. Cheers👍👍

    Brewferm, Diablo

Just sipping a Diabolo that I bottled on the 31/08/2015, and its superb. Well worth leaving for a bit. I tend to brew a few Brewferm kits at the beginning of the year and they are ready to drink from October onwards, I have a good stock in the garage, which i keep topping up. The Brewferm kits...

    Brewferm Triple

Just had a Triple which is 10 months old, and its superb. Well worth the wait and I'm glad I had a spell of brewing a number of Brewferm kits one after another. Can't believe I have so many left for the festive season. 👍👍👍👍 I am convinced the Brewferm kits do age...

Would you split this as I'm interested in the mash tun and sparge spray arm?

    Wilko Wheat Beer

Mine was bad but not as bad as the YouTube video above. Can't explain why the fermentation was so vigorous, as it's in a cool garage. Hopefully the end product is good. Maybe this is why Wilkos are selling them off cheap.

    Wilko Wheat Beer

Started this kit two days ago, and had read about the volcanic fermentation. Initially it started off pretty slow, but wow went to the garage this morning and there was one hell of a mess. I had brewed this in a 30 litres Speidel fermenter (lots of head room) with a large airlock, but the...

    Brewferm Ambiorix

There are not many reviews for Brewferm's Ambiorix, surprised as it a really good drink. Different to the other Brewferm kits, it's only 6.5% and its a 15 litres one can kit. Just trying mine after 2 months in the bottle, it's clear, very good carbonation, with a fruity, slightly sour/bitter...

    Brewferm double trouble!

Just sipping a glass of Brewferm Ambiorix 6.5%, not bad at all. I bottled this in March, it's clear, has good carbonation, and fruity flavour. Certainly one to try, glad I have plenty of bottles left for summer. Plus its a one can Brewferm kit that gives you 15 litres of beer.:thumb:
