Thanks for everyone's help so far. I've got most of the bits I need to get going with setting up the STC-1000 however I'm not 100% sure on how to connect this to the fridge, any further help would be greatly appreciated!

    Brew Fridge

Evening all, I've got an STC-1000 and a foot long heater tube and I got a fridge for crimbo off the future mother-in-law (was simply told to provide a list of homebrew equipment I wanted for Christmas :D ) After a lot of looking I've found a couple of how-to guides but I'm completely...

Extract to BIAB then all grain

How do, I've done a few extract kits and have been contemplating venturing into all grain for a while now. After a bit of research I've decided on dabbling in BIAB until I make the leap to all grain. SWMBO has ordered me to make a list of what I want for crimbo so was looking for some advice...

How to fit a tap to a bottling bucket

FatCol - trying to be economical really, I have a fv with no lid and a tap going spare so thought I'd keep cost to a minimum and re-use the stuff I've already got.

Evening, Long story short my previous bottling bucket has gone mouldy and is out of action, I have a spare fv that has no lid lid but does not have a tap fitted. Was planning on drilling a hole in the new bucket but was unsure what sized spade bit was required if anyone can point me in the...

    Festive Xmas Wine

Thanks chippy. Penguin, how is the muzzling cloth used to strain? Do you wrap it around the end of the siphon or do you cover the opening of the DJ with it and then siphon it across? Sorry for sounding thick, I just can't figure out how to siphon and strain at the same time.

    Festive Xmas Wine

Just had the yeast delivered for this kit so going to get it started tonight, can't wait! This is going to be the first wine I'll have attempted so I'm very unfamiliar with the process of wine making so fingers crossed... Quick question: how did you use the muzzling cloth to strain the wine...

    Out of date kits

Recently completed a Geordie Lager kit that was 4/5 months out of date, did some digging and the general census was if the can wasn't bulging it was okay to use. I'd definitely get some fresh yeast, I used the yeast that came with the kit and the beer has ended up quite watery, we had floating...

Cheap & Simple Tropical Punch - A BBQ MUST

Thanks chippy, it's been bottled so has had priming sugar added so I'd assume it would be too late to use the rack and splash option unfortunately.

    St Peter's Cream Stout

Just waiting on this kit to be delivered, thinking of adding some treacle to this, will be the first stout I'll have attempted so can't wait to get stuck in. Good luck and keep us posted!

Cheap & Simple Tropical Punch - A BBQ MUST

Hi all, I've posted a couple of times about this but didn't get any response... When this was fermenting it was in the the middle of that warm weather we had, the temp on my thermometer said 25 most of the time although it turns out that thermometer was bust so I know it was warm but can't be...
