    Coopers, Canadian Blonde Review

After two weeks in bottles, I spent at least another 3 cold conditioning the beer. Combination of garage / fridge. I seen the biggest improvements to my beer during this period. It became better carbonated, lighter in appearance, less cloudy and had a much better taste (less bitter)...

read my previous reply to you. A week is not enough time. 2 carbonation drops is plenty. I used 1 and it was fine

    Coopers, Canadian Blonde Review

Hey new2brew. I'm not far from you :) I made my first home brew recently and it's the same kit you have. Mine was also cloudy (and I was really very anal about the whole process) but I made the mistake of leaving my beer to condition in the kitchen. I would try a sneaky bottle every few days...

Just a quick note to thank everyone who helped answer all my questions. I have more or less just finished drinking my first home brew (unfortunately) :)

    Cloudy Extract Lager Question

I made my first brew a little while ago. I had the same issue. I was storing my brew in bottles in the kitchen so I kept them in the garage for a few weeks and then transferred to the fridge for a few weeks. It made a huge difference

    Have I ruined my beer?

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I might put them into the garage for a few weeks then :)

    Have I ruined my beer?

I have made my first home brew using the coopers Canadian blonde kit. I have been very careful, up to the point of being very anal and getting up in the middle of the night to check temperatures during fermenting :) And during the day I was on this forum pestering you folk with anal questions...

Fermentation complete - heat belt of and now what?

Hi All, I posted a few questions here before and have had some really great advice. I'm getting there - slowly :) For the last 3 days, I have been taking gravity readings and they have remained constant for those 3 days. I took my final reading last night actually. When I realised that...

Just got started with my first home brew and have some questions

Yes that's the exact one I was looking at. In fact, I just ordered it including the bottle filler :)

If fermenting is complete am I able to remove my heat belt?

Thanks so much guys. Great help. I'm certainly enjoying the experience :) I going to take another reading tonight - comes with the added bonus of having a sneaky taste of course :)

Just got started with my first home brew and have some questions

I'm definitely investing in a proper fermenting bucket. I have seen a Brewferm Fermenting Bin 30ltr with Airlock and Tap for under £14. Good option to go for?

Just got started with my first home brew and have some questions

Thanks Clibit - I took a sample yesterday for a hydrometer reading and it has indeed lightened slightly in color

If fermenting is complete am I able to remove my heat belt?

Thank you guys. I took a hydrometer reading yesterday. I have a reading of 1.010 (from a SG of 1.040) - My calculations are putting that at almost 4%. I'm not sure what those values mean in terms of quality etc Just to confirm (I haven't actually removed the heat belt yet)... I should take...
