    Adding sugar to PET bottles

Another method of priming pet bottles is to use sugar cubes, they fit easily and are cheaper than carbonation drops. 2 for lager and 1 for ale

    King Keg Floating Bullet

Hi, ive got two king kegs, each with the different type of float (ping pong ball and clear cylinder). I was cleaning the one with the cylinder float, had it full of warm water and lifted the float out to detach it from the tap. The clear cylinder shot out of the holder like a bullet and would...

'That' homebrew taste... what is it?

I tend to make ales from extract recipes and lagers from kits, kegging the ales and bottling the lagers. Ive never noticed THBT from the kegged ales, even when sampled quite young. However the bottled kits invariably suffer if sampled young, but as mentioned by others this disappears with time...

    Wilko Pressure Barrels

Ive also got a Wilkos barrel with a CO2 cap, the tap leaks before the vent blows until a good few pints have been drawn off. For the money another KK would have been a better option.

    Coopers Original Stout Review

I started this kit on monday and used treacle as well as 1kg malt. Dont know about the taste yet but the smell is amazing! Also, no fermentation activity for 24 hours then came home from work yesterday to find the vigorous froth described elsewhere taking place. Thankfully the fv is in a water bath

    Woodfordes Headcracker- Tips?

I made two kits in one 25l batch so that i had a full barrel. A bit more expensive than I'd normally fork out but it was well worth it, a great pint! Adding the two yeast sachets wasn't such a good idea.....

    Coopers Australian Lager Review

Hi, I'm about to bottle this using 500ml PETs and Coopers carb drops. Is one drop sufficient for priming or would I need 2?

    Hiya

Hello, I returned to home brewing in the summer after a 15 year gap and am amazed at how much the kits have improved in that time. So far I've made Woodfordes NOG, Headcracker and Wherry, Muntons Old Bitter and Porter, Milestones Lions Pride, Brupaks 80 shilling, Youngs Barley Wine and Surfers...
