    I suppose so, is this for dry hopping ? wouldn't a gauze bag be more straight forward ?

    First AG tasting a bit .....??

    I don't tend to stir it in, and the yeast seems to do the job just fine, also another plus with rehydrating is that you can see if the yeast is viable(?) I had some dodgy Nottingham once that just sunk like grit and did nothing, if I'd pitched it dry I wouldn't have sussed it straight away.

    Because the cupboardy type thing has flush hinges on it I'd guess its a newish build (25 yrs) so was put up with a cordless driver , I'd just cut the timber either side of the fixings, split the timber away with a chisel so you can see what you're dealing with and just twist the screws out with...

    I could be talking rubbish , but I think lager malt is close or the same as two row, I've only done two simple lagers the second was bittered with northern brewer and tettnanger then tett and hallertau for aroma, seemed ok to me but I'm not a lager man either. I'm sure a grown up will be along...

    Metal dustbins work fine for me, clipped down with bungee's just in case the little buggers get smart ;) , rats will chomp through plastic easily, had them chew through an fv sized container to get at rat poison :wha:

    Marbles, easy to clean, keep them in a pot so you don't lose them :whistle:

    I found this in the 99p store, it may be handy for some of you its meant to fit on a saucepan and hold a utencil, but fits an s/s pot and seems to grip V's silicone tube ok .
