Hi Dave
Many thanks for your interest. ã450 is a bit too low for me unfortunately. If you are willing to meet in the middle at ã500 I could do that.
Cheers,
Steven
As I haven't found time to actually brew in the last two years it's sadly time to reclaim some space in the house and sell my all grain setup.
I'm looking to sell:
50 L Mashtun with thermowell, dial, false bottom and 1/2" fittings
50 L Boiler with sight glass, stainless steel hop...
As I'm very happy with my finishing hydrometer I was wondering if there is an equivalent for measuring OG with readings from 1.030 to say 1.060/1.070 as it would be nice to have something with a larger scale. I saw that the malt miller does one which starts at 1.000 but I don't need it to go...
First glass out of the keg and this is tasting very nice indeed:
Has a nice hop aroma and tastes a lot smoother than my other brews (could this be from kegging it rather than bottle conditioning?)
Will definitely do this one again in summer with probably some more Simcoe in early on to up...
Started to wire up the STC-1000 (at some point I need to consolidate all of these into one box!).
Holes cut and cable glands and STC fitted:
Quickly wired up to make sure the unit works:
We've also started removing any beer labels from the front so we can decorate the fridge with them...
New coupler arrived last night and the connection on this is solid. Keg is now happily sat slow carbing at around 10C and I'll give it a try at the weekend!
Need to get the new STC-1000 wired up so I can have more accurate control of the fridge temperature.
The beer is in the keg and the keg is in the fridge hooked up!
I've ordered a second Sankey coupler as I needed one anyway for the second keg and this will also sort out my immediate coupling issue.
OK I have progressed a bit further with this. I noticed that the ends of the gas hose were a bit scratty so I've sharpened up one of the kitchen knives and trimmed 1cm off each end.
Pushed them into fittings again making sure they had locked in place and then gassed it up. This time I increased...
I've tried a wet run today with mixed results.
After finally finding a spanner and fitting the small red gasket I've attached the CO2 canister to the regulator with all screws on the regulator fully extended. A nice hiss of gas and then silence so the regulator holds pressure and I turn the gas...
Thanks, I'll check those out next time. As it was came to £14 in total so wasn't too bad.
Is there anything I need to know before hooking up the regulator and Sankey connectors? An idiots guide would be useful :)
Checked on this the other day and it's now down to 1.006 so I've added the additional Simcoe hops along with some Citra that I had left over (have to change the name now!) and I've started chilling it ready to hopefully keg this weekend!
