Yes the cornie can be used I have 4 of those and had lots of brews in them
just be extra anal about sanitising it possibly by steaming it using a wallpaper steam stripper then a good sanitiser
Please does anyone have an all grain recipe for the festival golden stag kit
or nearest idea.
Reason being my mate who also went halves with me on our all grain brewing set up
says he has not got the time to do a brew and has bought the festival kit to brew
I want to try and do an all grain...
Hi Stuart
I have some Hop oil here you can give it a squirt and should give it some flavour .
Next time you want to do a brew give me a shout and come and use my all grain gear to fill your FV
you will need half a day spare and can get the malts from BarleyBottom for less than a brew kit...
Can you put a tube on both taps and release the pressure in one barrel and the pressure in the other will push the beer across
I have done this with 2 of my cornies and the beer was good
Its in its bottles and has worked great I have tasted a bottle and its certainly funky , the beer has cleared to crystal clear somewhat out of style for a Saison . :wha:
I have also done 3 other brews using the Steam method and found it to be very easy to hit the step temp in a plastic mash...
I am halfway through brewing a Smash-saison hybrid ( marris otter and Cascade ) but using the belle Saison yeast from my last brew
shed currently at 26c its an experiment so not too worried about temps .
This water thing has me puzzled
we have zero scale in the kettle but cant use the tap water for Star san as it goes cloudy straight away .
also being Yorkshire Water we dont even know where our water comes from with them having the grid to pump water through
I have got some smoked wheat and Gotland smoked malt on its way from TMM
I did a Smoked Saison ( bottled at the weekend ) using 1 KG of the Gotland Birch smoked malt and early indications are it is quite subtle and tasty says the wife .
Wanting to do some sort of smokey wheat beer but not...
Saturday started with a Brew of Shropshire Lad bitter to fill up my friends FV as a thank you for looking after our dog when we go on hols .
forgot to take any pics

5 gallons of farm house saison
5 gallons of smoked saison
5 gallons various malt saison
