    Sparkling wine pressures

Thanks for that bernie. I know that prosecco uses glera but couldnt find any kits with this grape so plumped for pinot g instead. It has turned out very well imho but alot fruitier than proper prosecco. Do you know of any kits that are based on glera grapes? Cheers Zippy

    Youngs Harvest Pilsner review

I was told for a pils or lager you should add 5g per bottle. This should give nice carb. Some would say that is a tad high but I have always stuck to it and carbs up lovely

    Cider Noob and Keg Filling

What simon has said above will be the easier todo than the kit. Look up on here about turbo ciders. Really easy to Make with good results. They do ferment to dry. Rather than worry about killing off the yeast as simon says, just back sweeten with splenda or similar. This way ensures a sweet...

hi all its pistanbroke here a newbie,

Welcome to the forum. I am.afraid I dont brew those so I cant comment much. I will say that if they are same as the beer kits then the instructions are usually naff and overly optimistic. I rarely get the required gravity as stated in the beer kit instructions

    43 year old wine!!!

My next door neighbourbrought out a bottle of home wine he bottled with his dad in 1965! They even had made labels for it. He found some of the bottles when clearing out his mums house after she was admitted to a nursing home. It looked clear enough but there was about 20% evaporation so I dont...

    Cleaning old bottles

I never use a cleaner in my bottles. I just make sure that I rinse them out as soon as I have used them. I sanitise witg either star san or use the hot setting on the dishwasher to sanitise. I got an infected brew last summer and the star san didnt sort it but using heat did!
