    2 x 19l corny kegs

I have 2 x 19l used corny kegs. Both are ball lock type and were serviced prior to me buying them. I have never used them as I stayed with my King keg system. Both are sealed and holding co2 as supplied to me. Externally they are used with dings and labels on them. Collection only from between...

    Pressure Barrel taps

I have 3 KKegs all with sparkler top taps. Fingers crossed they have been perfect and never leaked. They pull a great pint too

King Keg Tap slight leak problem

Ditto - I only ever do the taps hand tight with the o-ring clean/vaselined. Never had any serious leaks to date (fingers crossed). Over-tightening can do more harm than good.

King Keg Top Tap float falling out

I have 3 KK top taps and I haven't seen this problem. I assume the plastic tube must be coming off the 'stab' on the tap connection thus just venting co2 out ? Mine pushed quite a long way on - obvious question I know, but is the pipe pushed far enough on ? I have sparkler taps .. maybe a...

    Lager kit suggestion please

Hi, I've pasted below a pimped Wilco Delicate Pilsner I brewed in Nov. I barreled it to clear then I bottled 3 weeks ago to store and lager for a few more weeks. The drink I had from the barrel were superb - really pleased with the colour, body and taste with the Saaz dry hop addition. I've now...

    best kit for beginner

Most of the kits are pretty simple. For me it's just ensuring everything is sterilised and being able to leave the brews alone long enough to properly condition ! As mentioned above, the difference on a well conditioned beer versus a young one can be immense. Just go for whatever you fancy and...

    grrrr pressure barrel issues again

Hi, if you like barrels I would get a King Keg top tap. Having one of these means the worst that can happen is you gradually lose pressure and not your brew as the tap is generally at or just above the full brew level. I've found them very good. Out of interest, I'm from York .. which homebrew...

Pressure barrels: King Keg vs Standard

Hi Kngsze, I started brewing last year and now have 3 King Keg sparkler top tap barrels. All I can say is they have been excellent and I've had no problems with them. The beer conditions very well, they are easy to clean and maintain and you get an excellent pub style pint out of them with no...

Pressure barrels: King Keg vs Standard

Personally I would always go for a KK top tap with sparkler tap. Pulling the beer off the top means a clear drink with no sediment pulled and the sparkler tap makes a nice creamy pint. For the extra cash I would go the full hog :) Cheers

    Rubber ring position on tap

Hi I can confirm the o ring goes on the outside of the kk. You will see there is a rebate that the ring sits snugly in. Put some vaseline on the ring and be careful not to over tighten which may cause the ring to distort. I usually do them by hand and give the tap a turn at the end to nip it...

    Fermentation temp ok ?

Thanks chaps. I checked the stout SG this morning and it's at 1010 from an original starting of 1050. So I'm really pleased that it has fermented out in a week at 18-19 deg. Next to check the Nelsons ....

    Fermentation temp ok ?

I'm currently brewing 2 brews - Nelsons Revenge and Coopers Stout. I have them in the hallway and they are sat at a steady 18deg C. Both have good krausen but I'm worried they might be too cool ? Is 18deg ok ?..

    opinions on lager kits

Hi Brydo, I just put the following pilsner brew on in mid November - - can of Wilko Delicate Pilsner - 500g light spraymalt - 500g brewing sugar - 250g dark spraymalt - SafLager 34/70 (I threw away the wilco yeast that came with the can) - 50g Saaz hop pellets added after 10 days and left in...
