    Lower ABV?

If you change mash temp lower abv drastically. Then I'm afraid you have a different beer. If you don't like high abv beers then don't try to replicate them.. There are things you can do like add carapils for mouthfeel biscuit malt for more biscuit flavour but why replicate something you don't...

    first brew questions...

OK. So you said it was at 20c. I would be surprised if you did 22c maybe. After adding the Nottingham yeast you will have a different drier beer than a wherry. This is likely a good thing. Hopefully it will clear up that packet yeast as well if you give it a week or 2. Sent from my SM-G920F...

    US-05 Yeast

That is on the low side. For medium body shoot for 66.7. Maybe your thermometer is a degree or 2 out and in fact you brewed at 64. The other thing is 20-22 is too high for so5. This yeast is real clean from 16-18 and takes a week plus a week conditioning. Get a large tub of water and put your...

    Beer failed to gas up

After filling the barrel inject co2. Don't wait for secondary to occur to check the seal is good. The bulbs don't carb the beer they help dispense.

I would rack straight to corny. In the pb it will carb. Transfer will then froth and subject the beer oxidation.
