    Cooper's Stout w/Chocolate & Vanilla

Hmmm Unfortunately I think this batch might have failed in secondary.. :hmm: I picked up a new barrel from Wilko to put this in with all my others being somewhat dilapidated. 3 weeks down the line and whilst the barrel initially fires the beer out, no true head forms, it still tastes very...

    Cooper's Stout w/Chocolate & Vanilla

Update: Been in the barrel now for around 2 weeks, still needs a bit longer as not retaining head, tastes fantastic though. Leaning towards the chocolate flavours for sure but the vanilla pops it's head up towards the end. A very enjoyable brew!

    Back To Wherry-t All Began

.. See what I did there? :hat: I know. Shocking. Puns aside, before Wilko stopped their Homebrew sale (gutted), I picked up a Woodfordes Wherry kit for £14. This was the first kit that I ever attempted 5 years ago and is what got me into home brewing. Rather than just stick it in the FV I...

    Cooper's Stout w/Chocolate & Vanilla

Thanks guys just put this into a new barrel and had a sneaky taste. Not much vanilla in there but the chocolate is bang on and balances really well with the kit. Added another 10cl or so of the vanilla extract and primed with about 30 teaspoons of caster sugar. Glad I added the DME as...

    Why choose a beer kit

For me it's all of the above, space, time constraints, cost and availability of ingredients locally. At one point I started to look into all grain, bought a 33L stainless steel Pot (still unused) and quickly found I'd go deeper and deeper into buying more kit. Spending time I don't have...

    Cooper's Stout w/Chocolate & Vanilla

Hi all A bit of a belated post but thought I'd put something up following my brew day on Friday just gone. I've read a lot about people using Cooper's stout as a good base for experimentation so thought I'd jump on the now creaking bandwagon. I used: Cooper's Stout Tin 1.7kg Malt Extract...

    Double The Fun

Hello again chaps, Well well well, I've seen several posts on here about the slow fermentation time of Festival's Razorback IPA kit but blimey I'm glad I'm not alone now. 3 weeks down the line and I'll finally be bottling it tonight! Since 100g of hops have been in there for the last 2 it...

    Recipe suggestion ?

Why not give a BIPA a go? Maybe a bit of Chocolate malt thrown in there could provide an interesting twist alongside the Chinook* *I take no responsibility for this beer recipe suggestion and as a result tasting like the inside of Mo Farah's running shoe.

Festival Razorback IPA - Fermentation/Hop Sludge?

Thanks guys. Looking forward to trying this in a few weeks. Cheers for the heads up on the hop front, was a bit worried it had gone a bit wrong for a moment! Interested to see what the additional few grams of Chinook does too. We recently moved into a new house that has a garage away...

Festival Razorback IPA - Fermentation/Hop Sludge?

Hi guys, New here and I've only just started to get back into brewing following a year out so it's good to join the brewing community again :thumb: I'd like to pick your brains if possible, I picked up a Festival Razorback IPA kit having brewed their Porter and Golden Stag successfully a few...
