    Scratches in a mash tun

Do scratches in a mash tun (cool box type) make a difference to a brew? I know people say they do in a fermenter but not sure about the mash tun.

    Gas regulators or splitters

Is it best to use a splitter or multiple regulators. I want 2-3 kegs. Iv seen some people just use a single regulator and a splitter instead of a multiple channels. Is this correct or should I be using a stage regulator instead? Thanks

What size corny kegs do you use?

I don't know if I should go for the 19 and save some money and just bottle the last 6 ltr with co2. Also would you go barbed or threaded quick dissconnects? £55 for 19 ltr £90 for 25 ltr

How to tell when it's ready to drink?

My last brew I left for ages. This brew 3 weeks in warmth and 10-14 days in the loft. What the best way to tell it's ready to be put in the fridge for drinking. It's a wheat beer.

    Wheat beer

Why do people say that wheat beer is better in a bottle than in a keg? The best wheat beer Iv ever tasted has always come from a keg. I can get the same beer in a bottle and it just doesn't taste as nice. On a side note, has anyone tried Devils backbone? It's so nice. Lovely after taste

    Sediment

got a fair amount in my beer, what can I do to get rid of it? It's really putting me off drinking it. It's like orange juice with bits  Bought my self a little mini strainer and that didn't work, thinking of adding a filter from a coffee machine to see if that removes it. I don't...

Didn't put the yeast in the fridge

Did I ruin it? It's a liquid yeast. Wlp 300. It was out for maybe 2 month lol. Has been in one for the the last 3-4 weeks but maybe it's done for. Pitched it yesterday and it's been nearly 24 hours and no activity at all. No yeast smell, nothing.

    Hydro reading.

Didn't know where to put this, as it's about brewing days I think it should be right. First brew and like an idiot I threw away the instructions. Someone said on the Internet it will be at 1016 and lower. Just want to check. My reading says 10 so I'm assuming that is 1010? Am I ok to...

    First brew

Did my first brew yesterday. Dasher the flasher. The smell was unlike anything I have ever smelt before. A sense of hmm nice mixed with a few pfff. Smell was nice but very over powering. Messed it up a little, but I knew I would. Nothing major just made it too hot. Let it sit for a while...

All grain without a gas cooker

I'm really interested in going all grain. Using the mash tun method. What are my options? I have an electric cooker. The one with the plates not electric ring. I was thinking of getting a water boiler but Iv been put of some what. People saying they are prone to break while in use...

    Fastferment owners

Hi all, I'm really tempted in getting one. My only concern like others is when you empty the first ball for primary fermentation. Are you introducing oxygen into the brew? They look decent and cheap

    Bucket or wide neck fermentor?

Which do you guys prefer? Need one and a as a indecisive man I can't choose. As a newbie its always a tough decision. Bough everything but the bucket yet. might buy one of each lol Thanks in advance
