    Can I have your thoughts on a new brew

    well i think i will try it, if i do make a full 23L batch, i may bottle half using conventional methods then add the caramel to the other half prior to bottling. this way i dont ruin a whole batch if it all goes wrong.

    My reasoning behind the condensed milk is that milk or sweet stouts are made by the addition of lactose, which is a non fermentable sugar found in milk. this should make the caramel non fermentable thus making the beer sweeter but no stronger.     I have never brewed anything but kits - yet, so ive nothing to compare against. but i do intend making the step over to the dark side in the end. I do play around with the kits now and find that makes a big difference to the taste. I have just made a nice stout with a cinder toffee after taste!

    The health food shop in Ulverston called Appleseeds has a bit in. I was in there yesterday and they had FVs, Pressure barrels, spray malt etc. not a great range but not too bad!

    Blackberries.

    I have 6Kg of rasberries in my freezer, and will hand them over to Mrs bob to see what she can produce. any good recipies? I found a great patch of wild rasberries and strawberries this year, but i ate most of them, the ones in my freezer are from the garden :roll: .

    Just bought myself three Brewers choice kits from Brupaks. I have made the Extra stout and the German Lager last nite. I found it great fun to do. took ages compared to the normal kits and gave me a lot more choice in the final taste of the beer. Lets hope it comes out OK. I just need my...

    Does anyone know of a good and cheap way to make my own labels for my beers? The problem with printing your own is that they always run if they get wet.
