Layer of the bottom of bottles

I have been tilting as gently as possible, my only concern was if it would adversely affect the beer...which by the sound of it, it doesn't! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Time to start the Wherry soon I feel

Layer of the bottom of bottles

I guess with my first brews I was a bit hasty in the bottling and left in the FV for a maximum of 8 days. The stout I have just bottled was 12 days in the FV, so hopefully sediment levels will drop out a little more. I'm using the coopers starter kit with the tap on the FV, there is little...

Layer of the bottom of bottles

Is there anyway to reduce this and get a clearer beer? Is it merely in the conditioning time?

    Conditioning temps?

Bottled a european lager last Sunday, ans the heat has fluctuated like crazy in the living room due to this heatwave.. What temp during the conditioning stage in the warm is recommended? If it is too hot will it ruin the beer? Had a cheeky taste of one last night and there is very little...

Just finished bottling my first brew.

Had to be done.. using milk as an adhesive baffled me! But does the trick nicely.

Pulling on the heart strings there andy! Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated. Contemplating sticking the European lager on whilst it is still cool outside! Robbie

Just finished bottling my first brew.

Just finished bottling my first brew and there is a load of sludge at the bottom of the FV - a very light colour...is this normal or am I missing something? At a guess I'd say it's the residue from malt etc from the tin kit? Thanks in advance. Robbie

    Newbie!

Bubbling appears to have subsided entirely now, so going to remove collar and leave until Saturday of next week before even contemplating bottling. Things appear to be going well so far! :) Need to pick up some sanitiser to clean out with so I can get my European Lager on the go soon (however...

Evening all, Complete novice when it comes to home brew, however, being the 21st century and the prominence of youtube I thought I'd give this home brewing malarkey a stab! Purchased the Coopers English bitter starter kit, and set my ever first fermentation stage off this evening...
