    What did you brew today?

I currently have five beers on at different stages. Thor’s Hammer is in a cornie keg conditioning. Bulldog Cervezes also in a keg conditioning. Festival Summer Ale is finishing fermentation 1055 to 1010 BYO lager. I used two cans 1051 still bubbling after 22 days West coast IPA all grain...

Poaching the Christmas Turkey in the Brewzilla

I’ve used the Grainfather to cook my turkey and ham for a few years now. The ham is currently on cooking after steeping all night in a brew bucket. Never had any tainting problem afterwards. You just have to wash carefully and make sure you run cleaning solution through the pump for a while. I...

    John Guest

I’ve loads of Guest fittings in 3/8 5/16 including ninety bends. Looking for 3/8 to 3/16 straight connections to swap. I’ll do a two to one swap as I’ve at least fifty I don’t need!! If anyone has 3/16 pipe to swap for guest fittings it would be great too.

    Hello from California

Welcome Skylar. I’m from Donegal and don’t have access to bitter either. I’m just back from a week in England and really enjoyed trying the different ales and bitters. Great forum here with loads of information.

    Barrel beer?

Apologies Fingers are doing their own thing. I’ll add the one gallon to four of lme mix. See what it’s like and proceed.

    Barrel beer?

Terrym and Madhouse. Cheers to you both. Sounds like good advice. The twang is something I will have to avoid as it put me off home brewing for years. I’m going to try a small batch brew first. I’ll make one gallon of really well hopped beer and then add it to four gall

    Barrel beer?

Cheers madhouse. It’s getting twenty or thirty loads all correct. Does the LME need to be boiled before cooling and putting in the barrel??

The Chaos that is a Buffers Brewery brew day

This has to be the best, most inventive system I’ve seen. It looks as much fun setting it up as actually brewing. Brilliant job Sir. Good luck with your enterprise!

    The Range MYO kits

Just put on the MYO stout kit. I had a muntons brown ale lying around so I added it as I’d no brewing sugar. A strange mix I know. It’s OG is 1060 so here’s hoping that it’s at least drinkable. I’ll add extra hops at seven days.

    Barrel beer?

Many thanks Kelper. That might actually be really good advice. If you have the time I’d be really obliged if you can explain why. I have the casks and, since i am currently working from home, I have plenty of time. Perhaps not an abundance of money to fire at this idea but enough to give it a...

Do you use pressure barrels or bottles for your home-brewed BEER?

I use cornie kegs filled to approximately 18litres. I usually bottle the reminder of the brew. I have real bother getting the gas right in the keg. Bottles are always a bit gassier and I prefer the smoother taste of the draft beer.

    Barrel beer?

Not a new member but I am back brewing after a long break. I’ve just started Kegging again and have a kegerator built at long last. I have a question about lme. I’d like to buy the 25kg tub of lme and make a full whiskey barrel of beer! I would mix hops with a five gall brew as normal and really...

    Youngs American IPA

:mrgreen:I went to change the keg to a coopers continental lager and found the Youngs ipa only had one pint left in it. Since I only started it a week ago I figure someone must be visiting my carport at night and helping themselves. My nearest neighbour and I have done a thorough investigation...

    Youngs American IPA

Hi all This was my first try at homebrew after twenty odd years. I brewed it middle of May for sixteen days in FV. Like everyone else the initial few days saw mental activity. Covered the floor at one stage with a snakelike yellow foam. I left it outside for a few days to clear then kegged it...
