    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Looking for a bit of advice on this one. It tasted quite good coming out of the fermenter, i've had it sat under the stairs for about a month now, tried a bottle tonight after having it in the fridge for a day or so, but it seems to have taken on a flavour that i can only describe as...

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Bottled this last night after leaving it in the FV for 2 weeks and getting it down to 112. I decided to put it straight into the bottling bucket then into bottles, as it came through very clear and sediment free. Bulk primed it with 100g of sugar so hopefully that should do. Tasted some...

    Sterilising bottles

Good point. What sort of heat would be advisable to run them through at ? It has different settings for different things. Quick wash, eco, intensive etc.

    Sterilising bottles

I've got 40 PET bottles to sterilise for my first brew. Will I be ok just running them through the dishwasher, sealing them as soon as they come out then using when needed ?

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Thanks Rob, I'm planning on muting the hops in quite late, as I like my beers in the craft style. So I guess I'll out the hop bag in once the readings get quite low and leave it in for a couple of days. That's the main reason I suggested secondary for a week as I would dry hop in the...

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Can anyone that has already brewed this give me a bit of advice ? How long would you suggest to leave it for each stage ? I've seen some saying to leave it in the FV for 2 weeks, Secondary 1 week then bottle it and let it Carb for a couple of weeks. What have others found works ?

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Started this off tonight as my first ever brew as it was recommended by the guy who runs my LHBS, so I hope it's good. Meticulously cleaned and sanitised everything, only thing I've just realised I forgot was to take a gravity reading when I started it off.

    Beer Fermenter-advice needed

Gave them a clean with soapy water, ended up using the shower to clean them down as it seemed easier. They ended up filled with hot water and weak bleach overnight as I had work and the wife forgot to empty them out for me. Just rinsed them out with copious amounts of water and they now don't...

    Beer Fermenter-advice needed

Probably a stupid question but here we go, just been gifted these two from a guy on free cycle. They need a bit of a clean inside and out. Also I think he said he used to make wine in them. What's the best way to clean them and to use ? Will washing up liquid, hot water and elbow grease do...

    Beginner Kit Setup.

After putting it out on freecycle I've kindly been offered quite a bit of equipment buy a couple of guys local to me meaning I may only need to buy sterilising stuff, which is amazing. Concern I have now is that on a lot of things I've read people say about dropping the temperature of the beer...

    Beginner Kit Setup.

That's a good idea, makes stuff cheaper and avoids bottle bombs. Is there no potential problem with the plastic changing the taste of the beer ie leaching into it ? Or is that a myth ?

    Beginner Kit Setup.

I think with all the stuff that kit includes, and due to the discount of the other items i may go for it and try and acquire bottles on top. I think i should be able to get enough bottles together, is it normally easy to get bottles from pubs ?

    Beginner Kit Setup.

Thanks for the advice guys, that kit from GEB looks like a great deal, you get loads with it. Even better as their American beer kits are 10% off right now. Am i right in thinking, as it comes with 2 fermenters i'll be able to do a secondary fermentation and get clearer beer ? or just be able...

    Beginner Kit Setup.

Hi guys, I'm completely new to this so was just looking for a bit of advice. Would anyone be able to advise the equipment I would need to start brewing using a kit. I've read a few different guys and different places say different things. I am planning on buying one of the Youngs American...

    Beginner Brewer in Lincoln

Hi guys, i'm starting on the road to brewing my own beer. I have attempted it in the past, stemming from my parents buying me a Beer Machine (which was awful) when i was 16. Can't wait to get my first batch going and reap the rewards All the best Matt
