Good point. What sort of heat would be advisable to run them through at ? It has different settings for different things. Quick wash, eco, intensive etc.

I've got 40 PET bottles to sterilise for my first brew. Will I be ok just running them through the dishwasher, sealing them as soon as they come out then using when needed ?

Started this off tonight as my first ever brew as it was recommended by the guy who runs my LHBS, so I hope it's good. Meticulously cleaned and sanitised everything, only thing I've just realised I forgot was to take a gravity reading when I started it off.

That's a good idea, makes stuff cheaper and avoids bottle bombs. Is there no potential problem with the plastic changing the taste of the beer ie leaching into it ? Or is that a myth ?

I think with all the stuff that kit includes, and due to the discount of the other items i may go for it and try and acquire bottles on top. I think i should be able to get enough bottles together, is it normally easy to get bottles from pubs ?
