    Woodford Pure Gold

Well, i kegged this yesterday at an fg of 1008. Still pretty murky looking but i think thats the debris from the hop pellets. Sample tasted ok, almost floral. Hopefully it'll turn out to be a nice mid summer drink.

    20 litre beer kit

Yep. Brew mine short all the time to try and bump the abv up (I'm not a session drinker)

    Which Lager kit?

Im just waiting on a betterbrew export lager kit to bottle condition. Lhbs recommended it as a fairly quick to drink kit and had some nice feedback in the reviews. Iirc their pilsner kit and coopers aussie/euro lager kits seem well respected. Ive never made a lager before so am a bit nervous...

    What next? Your opinions please

Definitely bottle the brewferm, grand cru is my favourite and probably my most enjoyable beer to date. Going to do a double batch for Christmas but wish I'd put it on a couple of months back. Cwtch is really nice but i did find it lost it's flavour quite quickly in a keg. I like to brew a...

    Woodford Pure Gold

I started this last night, have to agree on the colour, doesn't look appetising! Brewed mine to 20 litres and put it in the brew fridge at 20c. Couldn't for the life of me see when to add the hops so i think I'll give it a week and chuck them in. Sample tasted ok and lhbs recommended kegging...

Coopers stout - will this work?

Sounds good, I've used cocoa powder and fresh coffee before with pleasing results.

    What are you drinking tonight?

A bottle of Abbot ale for me tonight courtesy of Mrs darkhorse 😚

    Coopers New Kit Range

Haha, only because I'm wading my way through 40 pints of Brupacks scammonden stout which is seriously good even if I do say so myself! On a serious note, I have learned to leave beer to ferment and condition BUT I always keep the brewing rolling so I've got plenty in reserve.

    Coopers New Kit Range

I made the amber ale about 6 weeks ago but brewed short to 20 litres and dry hopped with 50g of Cascade. I realy like the dark ale which I think this replaced so fingers crossed when it's done conditioning.

    Christmas brews

I think I'm going to brew a woodfordes nog for general consumption over Christmas to go with the abjdi, grand cru and old vlams bruin i made at the beginning of the year.

    Christmas brews

I made this last Christmas, it's probably the least favourite beer I've made. Even my lhbs owner poured his down the drain! It's pretty much ginger beer rather than beer with a hint of ginger and cinnamon.

    Best commercial beer

Guinness Foreign Extra, just beautiful. I think I may go off on double/imperial stout shopping quest!

    Youngs Harvest Scottish Heavy Review

Keep it updated, I really enjoy heavy beers so could be tempted to get one and play around with ingredients.

Only tap water here as well, never had any issues.

    What are you drinking tonight?

Bought myself a few bottles in sainsbury tonight which I don't normally shop in and am drinking a bottle of their own brand American pale ale, very nice it is too. Came home with a bottle of Guinness Foreign which I'd never seen before but I'm saving that for Saturday, I do love a strong stout.

    Cwtch

Funny you should say that, I'm drinking one now and and it's just lost its edge.

    Cwtch

Best kit I've ever brewed, the flavours really come through and are quite complex, it's full bodied, has a nice creamy head. Well chuffed, just a shame I lost half of it!

    crying into my glass

I think it's my own fault after giving the barrel a good scrub and not doing the tap up enough. Oh well, at least I've got some left and and it's so nice, I'll get another on the go. . . . But I'll make sure I've done everything up properly!
