To Keg or not to Keg, that is the question

As above, corny kegs are great. I chuck mine in the brew fridge when I'm not fermenting, then pull them out and leave them in the garage with a wet towel round them when I have the fermenter going. I have two but I can see myself getting more!

    What did you brew today?

There is a monsoon outside! So an impromptu all grain brew day. 20L of Bavarian wheat beer. 50/50 Crisp Europils/Crisp Wheat malt. Saaz for bittering and Hallertau Mittelfruh for flavour/aroma. Fermenting with Mangrove Jack's M20 Bavarian Wheat. Hopefully the sun will return for when it is...

    Cyclist v Mr Angry

l like cyclists. The only thing I feel when I'm patiently waiting behind them is jealously that I'm not out on my bike.

Beer of the Month (February 2019)

I was thinking of the most controversial entry into the world cup for March, the giant killer that split opinion and caused tempers to rise! Timmy Taylor Landlord.

Beer of the Month (February 2019)

The idea of this thread is that we pick a commercial beer each month and you have a month to source it, try it and review it here. We can then compare notes and maybe even come up with some recipe ideas. For February we have a suggestion from @-Bezza- which was seconded by @Zephyr259 February...

Beer of the Month (January 2019)

Apologies all, I've been in Australia since the start of the month and my phone doesn't seem to work so I'm on an enforced digital detox! I have just managed to get on at this airbnb though so I'll start the Feb thread. Anchor Steam beer it is.

    What are you drinking tonight.

Left Handed Giant, How to Rejoice. Chocolate milk stout with cacao nibs, cinammon and fenugreek. I really like what the fenugreek adds. I'm wondering if it would work in a Belgian Tripel.... Oh! And Strathisla 12yr old single malt, as it's Burns Night!!

    Xmas Swap 2018 Review Thread

Well I have finally shifted the sinusitis I managed to pick up at Christmas and opened my second Secret Santa, a Caribbean Christmas Stout! It was labelled as being 8.5% and having chocolate, rum and coconut, which sounded delicious. This was my first beer on Friday night after a long day at...

    How Often Are You Brewing?

Not as often as I would like. I recently ''upgraded" to kegging in cornies and increased my batch size from around 11L up to 20L. Now I've remembered why I was a small batch brewer. I'm not a massive drinker and it takes me forever to get through a full corny keg! I need to find some more...

Comments or suggestions for the next secret Santa swap

I haven't tried my second beer yet as I fell ill over Christmas and I'm still on the mend. Please don't close the other thread just yet as I'll definitely post up once I get my smell and taste senses back! I've never mailed my beer out before and the SS thread encouraged me to do it. I was...
