    Hoppy taste to my brews

Of course it could be the way that they are supposed to taste, You do get over the taste after a couple of them. I didn't know if I was leaving the hops in too long?? Just seemed a little odd that out of 2 brews both taste like your munching down on a packet of hops! Just about to order...

    Hoppy taste to my brews

The American Steam hops were added dry to the FV, The Raja's reward was the tea bag style hops that you soak then add with the water to the FV I can't remember exactly with the American Steam but I think probably about 3/4 week after bottling, The Raja's reward has now been 5 weeks

Started this brew on the 25th and krausen had formed the day after, now after just under a week the krausen has almost gone just a few bubbles/head on top, taken gravity readings and it has come down from .048 to .018 Has anyone else had noticed this or any ideas if it is normal? I will...

Best place for fermenting brew this week

Where is the best place for me to keep my FV if I start a brew this week? I have either a cupboard under the stairs, I can then insulate the FV with bubblewrap and blankets, Or is it best to put it in a water bath in the garage? Any help would be greatly appreaciated

    Brew from separate ingredients

Iain thanks will give that a go, Is the process still the same if the ingredients change? or do certain malts and hops need a different process? Would it be ok to use nottingham yeast (I've already learnt that it works at lower temps)

It only the first batch so I guess it's a bit trial and error (not that I want to waste any obviously), The FV is kept in a boiler cupboard in a passage way, will check on it in the week and see what is going on with the airlock, if it's not bubbling after 10 days can someone suggest what my...
