    Amazon back orders

I've just had an email from Amazon about a status update about an order I'd placed... there I was thinking that I'd forgotten to give someone a Christmas present, but to my surprise it wasn't. It turns out that way-back-when in April 2011 I placed an order for the new Graham Wheeler homebrew...

    Fullers Wild River

I had a couple of pints of this Fullers IPA at lunchtime - what a lovely hoppy beer. It reminded me of my SNAPA clone I did for AG#1 :thumb: http://www.fullers.co.uk/rte.asp?id=109

    AG#4 - Timothy Taylor's Landlord I think...

Well its been far too long since my last brewday (7 months  ). Brewing all went on hold as I was off sailing across the Atlantic. I got back the other day, so time to build up stocks again. My damn laptop has died, so rather than making up my own brew, I'm following GW's book for this one...

... Before I convert this for my mini test brewery

Time to soak a nice big ham in turbo cider for the week before cooking it :) If it was finished, I could even boil it in the pot too. PID controlled ham cooking, hmm (tried to upload a pic via tapatalk, but getting an error) --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.245599,-0.724093

    Test-brew shiny?

I've been thinking of making some shiny for small test-brews. I see our friends on the french eBay site have 12 litre thermos pots, and 21 litre stock pots. I'm tempted to buy a set so I can do small 'kitchen' brews. I wonder if it's worth the effort? At least it'll give me something to do over...

    Fermenter scale marks

I've just been checking the scale marks on a new screw-top fermenter. I've chucked in 8.5 litres of water and hit the 10l mark printed on the side  I'd always known that these things are 'approximate', but this is WAY off the mark!! Simon

    AG #4 Guinness (ish)

It's been over 5 months since my last brew, so this weekend decided to sort out something to do on Saturday. Its going to be a Guinness clone. First off I was going to do the one in GW's book, but then with a bit of surfing found one on a US forum that went on about adding soured beer to the...

    The perfect cornie fridge?

I was in Currys earlier today, and saw one of these: http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/our-products/fridges-and-freezers/fridges/KTR18P20GB.html?source=browse Its got no 'compressor shelf' so could easily get 4 cornies, and probably a gas bottle in there... now if only I could find a cheap one! Simon

AG#2 - Hop Garden Gold clone

After the success of AG#1, which is still bubbling away. This weekend I'm going to give a local Hogs Back beer a go. If I look out of my spare-room window, I can see the brewery, so I thought it right to give one of their beers a go as it was living close to them that got the tastebuds fully...

    oops...

... A box, about 10"x10"x8" just turned up. Inside it was a flojet pump from Norm. Until I checked my ebay history, I had no recollection of ordering it. Apparently I did at 2am on Sunday morning... :drink: :drunk:

AG#1 - SNPA clone... pictures added

Right, this weekend is the big day. I've fart-arsed around long enough building up my brewery, so am going to attempt AG#1 on Sunday or Monday. To make things slightly easier on the recipy front, I ordered the SNPA clone kit from the Malt Miller, so I've got a recipy and this lot.... 6kg Lager...

    Water report

I've just received a water report for my supply area... it runs onto 4 pages  ... it includes nice words like turbidity, and Isoproturon. God-knows what that is!

The gestation period of a cornie...

3 days after introducing cornie #2 to cornie #1, the happy couple are expecting twins :) Only last week I loaded up the eBay app on my phone, and when I was out earlier it beeped at me. There was a notification that Norm had uploaded some new items (two pairs of cornies). Seconds later I'd...

    Simon's Brewery Build

Today is the day to get building :) I've had the pots for a week or so, and other odds and ends have been turing up in the post (much to the annoyance to the people at work!). I'm still waiting on the silicone washers and elements to arrive, but I've got plenty to get on with. Hole #1 has been...

    The Electric Brewery

Just been having a browse of the internet looking at PID info. About two hours ago I found this http://www.theelectricbrewery.com, and I've been reading it ever since. Pretty amazing setup, and some helpful info there... Simon

    They've arrived...

After a little hicup with the delivery of the stockpots, all three are now here :D ... I cant wait to crack-on with the conversion. I'll post some more pics as I do. Cheers Simon

    CO2 regulator

Hi, Can anybody recommend a good CO2 regulator? I've got the Corny, 3/8" hose, the CO2 (male thread)... and the beer :drink: but the last thing is the regulator. I've seen a few on ebay and on various websites, but im not sure what I'm getting. Most of the ebay ones appear to be welding...

    I was starting to panic...

The pull to the land of the shiney pot was too great, so last week I ordered a 50l thermos and two 70l stockpots. The thermos arrived but the stockpots had gone AWOL :o DHL's online tracking said there was a problem with the address and were at Heathrow. I called them up last night only for...

    CO2 Guildford, Surrey

Just popped down to the Calor Shop in Guildford (Slyfield Industrial Estate). Very helpful for CO2. I got a standard pub-size Air Liquide cylinder for £20.34 inc VAT. All i need now is a regulator and I can start using my cornie :) Simon (ps - I can see this getting expensive as I've just...
