Yes not sure what actual difference it will make. I asked the guy in the local homebrew shop what to use and he suggested it. £1.99 for a kilo so wasn't a bank breaker so I thought I'd try it.

Hi. Thanks for the comments. I just checked again and the brewing sugar I have is Dextrose Monohydrate (Corn sugar) so hence the 132 grams at 2.2. I guess I'm not to out of the ball park then. I might just stick with the calculatr and suck it and see. I'll always know for next time. :smile:

WOW! Awesome responses. Thanks everyone. I'll probably be trying to brew some IPA and hoppy stuff so that seems to tick a box for now. I hadn't thought about keeping the fermentation down so I like the idea of the frozen 2L bottles. I'm in the process of putting my list of bits together...

Although these systems are billed as all in one, realistically I guess I need to buy some other bits to get up and running. Things I'm thinking I will/ may need - - Sparge water heater? - Fermenter - Stirring stick - Hop spider? Also do I need to factor in any other pipes and connectors...

Interesting. I've been looking at the Bulldog.. looks good and obviously a bit cheaper which is a big consideration.
