    First Couple of Brews Update

Haha! Yes that was my thought - start 'modding' an existing kit and see where it takes me. I guess it's just a confidence thing. I need to take a look around and see what grains and hops are being used and then start experimenting from there. I've got a single hop Amarillo kit in the cupboard...

    GetErBrewed Question and Answer thread.

As part of an order I had ordered 48 bottles for delivery yet on receipt only 24 had been packed. Also my bottle capper arrived and was not yellow as in the picture but green. Being a bit OCD I was a little p**sed. Packing slip was correct so sent them a message on FB and then phoned...

    First Couple of Brews Update

Thought I'd give a quick update here to say thanks for the help I have received on this forum for my newbie questions. Well I took the plunge and got my all grain brewing system. After much deliberation I went the Grainfather route. I got a good deal and was swayed by a few things, but the main...

    Priming and Bottling

Yes not sure what actual difference it will make. I asked the guy in the local homebrew shop what to use and he suggested it. £1.99 for a kilo so wasn't a bank breaker so I thought I'd try it.

    Priming and Bottling

Hi. Thanks for the comments. I just checked again and the brewing sugar I have is Dextrose Monohydrate (Corn sugar) so hence the 132 grams at 2.2. I guess I'm not to out of the ball park then. I might just stick with the calculatr and suck it and see. I'll always know for next time.

    Priming and Bottling

OK. so I took the plunge and got myself an all grain brewing system. I've now done two brews, of course still finding my feet and getting used to the process. My first batch has been fermenting for two weeks and I think it's probably ready for bottling. I've bought some brewers sugar...

    Home Brew System Questions

WOW! Awesome responses. Thanks everyone. I'll probably be trying to brew some IPA and hoppy stuff so that seems to tick a box for now. I hadn't thought about keeping the fermentation down so I like the idea of the frozen 2L bottles. I'm in the process of putting my list of bits together...

    Home Brew System Questions

Although these systems are billed as all in one, realistically I guess I need to buy some other bits to get up and running. Things I'm thinking I will/ may need - - Sparge water heater? - Fermenter - Stirring stick - Hop spider? Also do I need to factor in any other pipes and connectors...

    Home Brew System Questions

Interesting. I've been looking at the Bulldog.. looks good and obviously a bit cheaper which is a big consideration.

    Home Brew System Questions

Awesome thanks for the quick replies. Are there any good sources online or organic ingredients, accepting that the costs would be higher?

    Home Brew System Questions

HI new here and working my way through the posts. A couple of quick questions that I am looking for advice on. Brewster, Grain Father, Bulldog, Ace... a bit confused and I guess I need to just make a decision (possibly on cost). I'm looking to do maybe 2 brews a week and mainly want to...
