    Candi Crystal Substitute??

Good evening! As I’m finding it difficult to source some Candi crystal (only needing that makes postage prohibitive) for the GH winter ale recipe are there any alternatives to use or will the recipe taste ok without it?? Looking to get my winter ales on the go ASAP!! Cheers 🍻

    Used Corny Keg For Sale

19litre used corny keg for sale. This keg has an additional S30 valve built into the lid so can be used with both an S30 canister or normal CO2 gas in line. Ideally I would like collection from Kenilworth. £50 ono. Cheers 🍻

Nylon Bag and Ceramic Beads For Dry Hopping??

I’m ready to dry hop my latest brew and was wondering whether it was ok to use a nylon bag weighed down with ceramic baking beads to hold the hops down. Obviously these would be sterilised and sanitised before use so would it be ok or is a muslin bag and marbles a better option?? 🍻

Are There Alternatives To The Grainfather Kegerator?

Hello! I’m looking at purchasing a professional, 3 tap Kegerator due to a complete and utter inability to build my own without the risk of setting fire to my house. DIY is most definitely not my strong point!! Anyway, I have been looking at the Grainfather/ Mangrove Jacks Kegerator which...

    Monumental Error?

Good evening! Whilst kegging my 5.8% ESB I made the massive mistake of leaving the blow off tube connected to the fermenter which ended up sucking the best part of a pint of steriliser back into my ale. I finished kegging as usual but suspect this batch is now ruined. Any ideas if the brew is...

    Safe To Drink??

A few weeks ago I brewed an IPA which I then fermented without any temperature control over the week of the really really hot weather. The thermowell reading hit around 26-27 degrees at times during primary fermentation. It’s been sitting in a Corny for a couple of weeks and I’ve just drawn off...

    The Circle Of Life

Sunday evening spent brewing my favourite brew whilst supping the Cornish Tin Miners Ale from the Greg Hughes book. The Circle Of Life right there before my eyes....I brew. I drink. I brew some more!!

    Fermentation Chamber

I’ve read many threads on this forum regarding old fridges turned into fermentation chambers/ keezers but wonder if anyone sells purpose built ones. I’m a total numpty with all things DIY and technology (I do well just to log into this site!) so definitely cannot be trusted with building...

    Might Stop Brewing Clone Beers...

Over the past year or so I’ve brewed a number of “clone” beers and my favourite has been a Jaipur which tasted nearest to the original. Most of the others have not been close to their original but all have been great beers in their own right. I think, therefore, I just need to brew more beer...

    Cleaning Reconditioned Corny Kegs

Good evening! I have just spent the past 90 minutes cleaning my re- conditioned Corny kegs using 10 x 5ml teaspoons of TSP in 19litres of warm water. The solution was left for an hour with the occasional vigorous swirling! After a good rinse through I still have some black deposits left on the...

    One Year On.......

As the title suggests, it’s been around a year since i started my All Grain brewing journey. A very enjoyable first year but a year where I still wonder what I’ve learnt!! I use an All-In-One system to produce some amazing wort. Quality ingridents and recipe instructions mean I hit all the...

    Is Early Kegging A Solution??

I am still relatively new to home brewing having now made 5 AG batches using the MiBrewery from BeerTorrent all in one system. Each beer has tasted amazing (genuinely it has surpassed my expectations) however I feel I am doing something wrong with the secondary fermentation. I am currently...

    Ruddles County Clone Advice!!

I brewed my second AG last Sunday, a Ruddles County clone. OG was 1048 (target was 1046) and after a few days of vigorous fermentation everything seemed to stop. Today I’ve checked again and the gravity is 1012 (FG is meant to be 1010). I’ve given the brew a little stir to see if it rouses the...

    Why Do We Do It??

After a most enjoyable second AG Brew day with a friend we were discussing the merits of our new found hobby. Why do we do it? Is it because it makes sense financially? Is it because it’s a challenge (to make a truly great beer)? Is it just a hobby to pass the time?? A combination of all 3 or...

    Help Please! Secondary Fermentation

Hello! After what appears to have been a successful first ever AG Brew day I am about to keg 23litres of an IPA which is coming in at 7.4%. How much sugar should I use for secondary fermentation? I’ve seen suggestions about using spray malt as opposed to brewing sugar so I’m...

    First AG Brew Day!

First ever AG Brew day using a Mibrewery by Beertorrent all in one system. Easy to set up, seems to be a good quality build (admittedly I have nothing to compare it against) and very easy to programme. Made an IPA with an OG of 1074, FG should be in the region of 1010 so hopefully not a bad...

    New To The Home Brew

Hello!! I’m fairly new to home brewing and to date have made half a dozen ‘add water and stir’ kits and have also had a couple of sessions at a nearby Home brew shop where I have learnt to mash, sparge, lauter, boil and ferment. I’m about to launch myself into...

    beertorrent®

Hello, as a recent member of the forum and Home brewing in general I hope this post is allowed. I have found a Leamington based company called Beer Torrent who sell an excellent all in one brewing system and have some currently in stock. I am in no way affiliated with this business and am...
