    Admit it, you're a bigot

ElvisIsBeer, I like your concept, but, if I was to post what I thought I would get a ban & that is the crux of the problem. In this "PC" age anything goes if you're a 'minority', for the rest, anything goes except their freedom of speech. Yes, I am a bigot.

    E-cigarette battery blast

I assume they were 18650 batts as Samsung were mentioned, most probably had bad or damaged wraps, shorted on each other & went nuclear. Damaged wraps should be replaced & batteries should be swapped out every 6 months (known fact). Put this down to user error, no excuse. One thing's for sure...

    Capper

Hi Brewers, was wondering if anyone can recommend a good affordable crown capper (preferably NOT the bench type as they are beyond budget)? Was looking at the 'Emily' but is it robust enough & does it cap most bottle types? Many thanks in advance. Brew on.

    My First Ever HomeBrew

Hi Alex.mc, yes, it's coming on a treat. Transferred to secondary Friday, all went to plan. Had a taste test, got a second opinion & like me came to conclusion it's come out like a Punk. Pulled half a pint yesterday, carbonating well, good head retention & is clearing nicely. FG of 6.3 so I'm...

    My First Ever HomeBrew

Hi, thanks for all your replies. The kit is Youngs American IPA, I'm not disappointed with it's appearance, in fact I'm overjoyed with the current outcome (hope it continues), it smells & tastes better than expected (better than the Speckled Hen I'm having at the moment), the cloudiness was...

    My First Ever HomeBrew

Evening Brewers, As I mentioned in my 'Introduce Yourself' post last week, I have an IPA kit on the go in the FV. Yesterday (day 10) the airlock was still burping every 5 seconds, today nothing, so I took a reading & got better than expected results of 1.004. With initial SG reading of 1.052...

    Hi

Gerritt, cheers, the IPA's the first, from a kit, not expecting much just a trial run for the real thing. Yes, soup! that'll do it (or not), got an interesting recipe off the net, actually from this forum iirc, going to give that a bash, someone mentioned it was from 'Wheelers Book' whatever...

    Hi

New member here. New to this Home Brewing malarkey & currently undergoing a self inflicted crash course on Brewing courtesy of utube, my head's spinning!! Have 40 pints of IPA in the FV at the moment, as soon as the bin is available going to have a crack at Stout, hopefully by means of extract...
