    Sad for the workers

I am really sad to hear about the death of Bob Crow. A sad event for the workers he represented. A principled leader who put the needs of the workers first.

    Removal of CO2 discussion

Degassing is a common thread subject and many people have some rather simple and complex ways of achieving the removal of CO2 in their wine. I have heard of people using various mechanical vacuum devices from the simple vacuvin to full blown vacuum pumps. Others by contrast simply shake the...

    Stop the hospital closure law

Jeremy Hunt’s ‘hospital closure clause’ is dangerously close to becoming law. It could put all hospitals across England at risk and it has just been announced that the crucial vote is only a week away. If we’re going to win this we've got to move quickly. Our best chance to stop it is...

    Flashed in Staines

I was flashed by a speed camera going through Staines today. No idea why, I was only doing 20 knots. --------- It's no wonder David Cameron doesn't want Scotland to leave the United Kingdom. At this rate Scotland will be the only place above the flood line. -------- "An Englishman's home...

    Bad mouthed parrot

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing...

Using Argon to serve wine on tap

Has anyone used argon to serve wine from a keg? As an inert gas it seems ideal to serve the wine from a keg rather than a bottle. Argon seems to be easily available as it is used as a welding gas.

    Who says men don't remember?

A couple were Christmas shopping. The shopping centre was packed , and as the wife walked through one of the malls she was surprised when she looked around to find that her husband was nowhere to be seen. She was quite upset because they had a lot to do and hence, she became so worried that...

    The gatling chiller

After much thought and wanting to upgrade the cfc chiller I have I came up with this design. It has 6 10mm copper pipes contained in a 54mm outer jacket. The wort flows back and forth through the 10mm pipes and cold water through the 54mm pipe. Not quite tested in anger but it has been...

    Bomb scare Shepherds Bush

Hope everyone is okay down in London. Apparently there is a bomb incident in the Shepherds Bush area. No details as it hasn't hit the news yet. My son works in that area and just rang to say he was okay. But as we didn't know about it we weren't worried.
