    Not been on for a while what with work and other hobbies. But ive been out today and picked 10lb of greengages so after not making any wine for over 9 months i think i'll start again today. Joe. :thumb:

    sg 1.000

    defrosted the freezer 3 weeks ago and i had some damsons greengages and elder berries. about 14lb in all. so i made up a 5 gallon must. its been fermenting for 3 weeks now and the sg is 1.000 Should i let it ferment out and rack it. or leave it for another week till it's completely stopped...

    Greengages

    Anyone tried wine made from them ive just done a plain one with lemon zest. and another with a hand full of elder flower and lemon zest. fingers crossed. ive found a tree and had 60lb of them. the jam i made from them is spot on and ive froze down 4olb.

    supermarket juices

    ive tried quiet a few now and had mixed results. what type of juice do you use and what do you reckons the best for making wine. some people i no use from concentrate and also from pure juices.

    rotten eggs (cider)

    Been doing wine a while now and after a few disasters ive got the hang of it. So inevertabley ive now tried cider from a kit. i fermented it of as per the instructions in a bucket. then transfered it to a barrel. a few days in and it started smelling of rotten eggs. i left it clear and bottled...

    concentrate

    When making wine a gallon at a time i always add a 245g tin of concentrate (most recipie's ive got say to do this) is there an alternative that you can use a little bit cheeper.

    hi from N.Wales

    Afternoon all. found this forum whilst sitting on my **** after a night shift. Been doing home made wine from kits for about 18 months. and the last 6 from fresh fruit's. and fair do's it's become very addictive. also just threw away my 1st batch of cider which failed badly.
