Hi all,
Is there anything I can do to stop this happening ?
I just make a normal all grain brew but whenever I use wilkos yeast I sprinkle on top then after about 24 hrs I lose at least two litres due to crazy foaming eruptions on the top. Proper mess too :(
If I use safale 04 there's...
Hi all,
I've been all grain brewing for a while now, made about 25 brews but I've just bottled the latest brew and there's whitish coloured bits flaoting in it. The dont seem to sink.
Two things I've done differently this time
1) I dry hopped prior to and during fermentation using 50g of...
Hi, I need a bigger coolbox. I currently use about 6kg of grain to make a 25 litre brew. My coolbox mashtun is full using this. I'm looking at coleman xtreme 36 qt but not sure exactly how big that is. Anyone used one and would it be big enough for around 9 - 10 kg of grain with about 25 litres...
Hi, I usually use leaf hops and just add to the boil, I have a tube type filter atteched to the tap on a buffalo boiler. Anyway I've been given some pellets, do I use these the same as leaf or will they clog the filter ?
Thanks
Hi,
How long is it ok to keep the beer in a fresh fermenting bucket after fermentation ?
I ask as I'm getting short on bottles and barrels ( they're all full ) and this is a good time for brewing in garage.
Would it be ok to stay in the 5 gallon bucket for say 3 weeks / and if so would it...
Hi. I have a few sachets of safale s33 yeast which is just about on its use by date.
Can I use it after this date and if so should I keep them in the freezer for now ?
Many thanks
Hi again,
I've been using safale 04 yeast in all grain brews. The beer tastes great but when I open
A bottle and pour into a pint glass I end up with lumps of sediment at the bottom of the glass. Am I doing something wrong or does this just happen ?
Thanks again
hi,
Just pondering bottling my latest brew. I use about 50 - 60 previously rinsed bottles, fill them with water then add baby bottle sterilizer tablets. After half an hour I empty each one and then rinse again. It's a complete pain of a job.
Am I overdoing this ? , do they need rinsing out...
Hi, I've been all grain brewing for about a year, I've just been using tap water but am now wondering if I should be treating it, would I notice any difference in the beer ?
Have you guys noticed an improvement in your beer by treating the water ?
Many thanks
Hi, do I need to make sure bottles dont get too cold when priming ?
I've had them priming in the garage up to now but as it's getting a bit cooler should I start keeping them indoors ?
Thanks
Hi,
May be a daft question but just wondering how they are able to get the beer right after fermenting into barrels and then out to the pubs as when I make it ( all grain ) it seems to take about 6-8 weeks before it's at it's best
Hi all,
I've made a few all grain brews now using safale 04 yeast.
At the end I throw the yeast in the fermentation vessel away. Can I reuse this and if so, can someone give me an idiots guide how to do it :)
Many thanks
Mark
The prices seem really good but the website is a bit poor and the contact details appear to be a residential address

Hi all,
I have a buffallo 40 litre boiler, bought new and used today for the 4th brew. Up until now it's been fine.
The problem is it's suddenly decided not to reach boiling and cuts off at just before.
Any ideas what the problem might be ?
Many Thanks
Hi,
Just wondering if it would be ok to put a half used sack of grain into a vacuum bag and suck the air out ? it's the type you see on tv for storing clothes etc. I could do with keeping it for a couple of months and have a couple of these bags.
I'm not sure if the grain would deteriorate if...
