Got this for crimbo, decided to brew the stout straight away. Soaked the tin in warm water to help thin out the contents then added sugar, tin contents, boiling water into fermenter. Gave it a good stir and topped up with cold water. It's just waiting to come up to temp again so I can pitch...

Picked up 2 bottles for a fiver at morrisons 700ml (Cheap? I have no idea.) Looking forward to giving it a taste test later tonight, it's sat in the fridge at the moment slowly chilling :)

Hi all, Whats the difference between brewing sugar and the white sugar you get from supermarkets? Is the brewing sugar more refined? Brewing sugar is expensive but I'm willing to fork out for it if you guys tell me it's worth the extra cash. Thanks. -Paul :cheers:

Hi all, I started a ginger beer plant tonight. The recipe calls for 1kg of sugar to around 15 pints of water. How can i guestimate how strong the ginger beer will turn out to be? Many thanks, Paul.
