    Chorley Gas

Hi, I'm looking to use a corny keg for the first and I've bought one and a regulator from Malt Miller. Sourcing gas locally has been harder than expected/impossible. Chorley Gas seem to look decent but just wanted to check peoples' thoughts before I go ahead and buy. I don't live local to them...

    Boiling water before mash

HI everyone, If I was to boil my water before adding to the mash to reduce alkalinity, how long would I have to boil for? The amount of CaCo3 in my water is 335.5 and I'd prefer not to use CRS as according to Brewers Friend this pumps up my Chloride too high. Any advice very welcomed thanks.

    Alkalinity reduction-AMS

Hi everyone, this is the first time I've aimed to change my water. I've bought some Murphy and Son's AMS to reduce alkalinity. My total Alkalinity as Calcium Carbonate is 305 mg/l. My calcium is 134 mg/l. I am aiming to brew a West Coast IPA (I tried a NEIPA with no water treatment, and it...

    Black IPA recipe thoughts

Hi everyone, I'd be grateful on your thoughts on this: Golden Promise: 71% Munich: 12% Carafa Special III: 9% Caramunich III: 8% Hops I'm currently thinking: Tettnang as bittering hop with a bit of Bramley Cross for about 30 mins and then Bramley Cross dry hopping. I'd quite like to get some...

    Recipe thoughts-dark ale

Ah yeah sorry Munich: 1.34 kg (37%) Caramunich: 1.07 kg (29%) Pilsner: 0.68 kg (18.5%) Redrye: 0.58 kg (15.6%) Is that too much then you think?

    Recipe thoughts-dark ale

Hi everyone, After almost 2 weeks in fermenter I thought I'd take a hydrometer reading and a taste test for my first ever all-grain brew, which I was hoping to be a dark, fruity ale. The ingredients I used were: - Munich: 3.04 lb - Caramunich: 2.38 lb - Pilsner: 1.52 lb - Redrye Crystal: 1.28...

    Red IPA

Hi, I'm looking at brewing my first all grain red ipa. If anyone has any tips or advice, including best malts, hops, yeast etc before I start ordering for this I'd be grateful! Also water profile as I have very hard water. I have some Munich left over and I am unsure how much, if any, is too...

Great thank you. I have used Tettnang and Bramley Cross, which I'm not sure how well will work anyway, but that's what I had

    Dry hops for black IPA

Hi everyone, I've just finished my first all grain brew, which is a black ipa, and its in the fermenter. I was wondering after how long you add the dry hops and any recommendations for what to add?
