    Anywhere in Suffolk Sell Malt??

Hi. Can anyone recommend somewhere near Ipswich in Suffolk where I can buy the odd kilo of two of malt for my early forays into homebrew? I've used the usual online retailers but the postage costs are understandably high. Any recommendations would be heartily received. D

    Disadvantages of No Chill

Hi. I am a very new brewer and wondered what the disadvantages of 'no chill' are? I am thinking I would give it a try as I have lost my freezer blocks (don't ask!!) I am looking to brew a citra/maris otter SMASH! Cheers!

    Amount of Yeast

Here's a question about fermentation. I'm doing my first recipe which called for Nottingham Beer yeast (Lallemand Nottingham Beer Yeast - Get Er Brewed). It comes in a packet but I'm assuming I don't use the whole packet? Maybe I do just chuck it in but wanted to check!

    1 gallon homebrew fermentation question

Hi. Just after some reassurance really! I made up a 1 gallon American IPA from alesmithing on Sunday afternoon and it's been bubbling away since Monday, however I noticed is all quiet this morning.....the kit instructions say to bottle it after 5 days (which would be Friday afternoon) so I'm...

Which beer could we brew that most resembles a medieval ale?

Here's a question. I have developed an interest in social history and would be keen to brew something that resembles the brews of yesteryear...specifically the 'ale' drunk by almost everyone in Tudor times. I have heard it called 'Small Beer' and was less than 1% abv, but there was also stronger...

    New Member!

Hello. Thought I'd introduce myself! I am a 45 year old father of 5 from Suffolk who is taking his first steps in homebrewing. Due to lack of space I have a small 5l kit which I have used to produce one batch of IPA from a kit. Very drinkable! The second batch went badly and was poured...
