Hi, Have just been given as part of Bday present the very useful present of an FV with a tap at the bottom which will make racking easier. When I fit the tap do I need to put some sort of oil or grease on it i.e. vaseline? Also given a Festival golden Stag kit :D Do I need to bottle this or...

My beer has been fermenting in the FV for 17 days now as not had time to bottle. Is that a problem? Would prefer to leave till Monday ie 22 days. Beer is Brewferm grand cru.

At the weekend my father in law insisted he give me an old beer keg (which was actually good quality) as well as a bitter kit from Boots which he reckoned was 15 years old. He helpfully recommended not using the enclosed yeast sachet! Anyone reckon this beer kit will still be worth brewing? :?

Hi has anyone used the plastic 1 litre PET bottles you can get from the supermarket for bottling their brew? If so are they strong enough for this purpose? Usually juice bottles, ribena etc, they look and feel as strong as the PET bottles I bought previously.

The `cap' sorry for want of a better word of my keg says that I should lubricate the seal before use. Clearly I don't want to use an oil that will taint any beer I put in it, so what oils can I use? I was thinking olive oil maybe? Thanks
