Grainfather Conical Fermenter Pro - Black residue in fermenter

The photo was taken after taking the beer from the bottom tap, taking the lid off and a quick rinse with cold water. I hadn't given the fermenter a clean with anything. It was more the colour and toughness of the residue that made me panic that something nasty had got in there - But the same...

Thanks for that, especially the tip about VWP - I'll get some different cleaner.

Grainfather Conical Fermenter Pro - Black residue in fermenter

I used WVP solution that I use for my other kit, thorough rinse, sprayed with starsan. The photo was after the first ever use.

    Old Urn Rewiring Help

Hi, I recently bought an old urn (possibly 70s) from a fellow forum member but it is need of some slight rewiring (see photos). I've tried to find photos/wiring diagrams but had no luck. I'm pretty confident I can get it up and running again, but can anyone help with some guidance? In...

First timer with small orchard seeking advice on cider

I've been making cider for several years using a wide selectin on apples from the local area. The SG always seems to come in around 1050 and FG a little over 1000. I use champagne or cider yeast but don't bother with campden or anything else. Try experimenting with some demis by adding ginger...
