    Great British Rail

By profitable, I mean making a reinvestment profit to ensure that the industry is kept up to date. So large infrastructure improvements can be self funded as much as possible.

    Great British Rail

I think that 'renationalise' is something we need to consider for certain industries. But they need to be operated as a private company, with an aim to be profitable. We need a reliable rail network, water services, and energy supply and the NHS that is managed for the public good. Having...

    Electric cars.

I love the power regen system. I often drive one peddle now, with my foot hovering over the brake peddle just in case.

    Shopliftting.

Tbh, as a magistrate, I see low value shoplifting every time I'm in court. Anything from £20 upwards. But all crimes are under-reported, and under-prosecuted.

For first offences Anyone who has any sort of record will come through the court system.

    Shopliftting.

These are seen in Magistrates Court. It means they just dont/can't be sent upto Crown Court. Whoops should have read down to the end of the thread, Leon said the same!! Lol

I work in the law system, people are often prosecuted for shoplifting under £200. And very often under £100.

20mph Wales: Some roads to revert to 30mph after backlash

WFH actually benifits many people. My wife has WFH for over 15 years and it has allowed her to progress professionally and pick up caring responsibilities of her aging father without compromising anyone. It has meant she can keep working and keep caring. Roads are too busy, but without better...

20mph Wales: Some roads to revert to 30mph after backlash

I like the 20 limit. They do need to reconsider some roads. Some are obviously not walked on or are big enough or with very little foot traffic they they should revert to 30. I was unlucky, my driving test was in the 17/09, the day after it was introduced. So I had learnt to get to 30, then...

    Beer52 subscription.

Happy update. After nearly 50 mins on the phone I finally got them to refund for the beers sent, but they wanted me to pay for them to go back. I got a bit narky and they said keep them! So, 8 cans of nice beer free :~) Not a bad result. I can now relax, have a kebab to celebrate and a can of...

    Beer52 subscription.

Anyone else had difficulty cancelling their Beer52 subscription? I have tried to cancel but they have taken fees early to justify sending out a package. They wo t accept returns or refunds. TBH I can't really afford it at the moment but they seem to only care about upwelling. Any advise?? Thanks 😊

    smart meters

I resisted the "smart meter" for a long time. Only had one due to having an EV. I check it regularly via the Octopus app and it seems to be working fine.

    Bit of a rant

Those who don't vote need to keep their opinions to themselves. They gave up the right to complain about the government by not voting.

    Old beer

I worked in a pub in Manchester, The Salisbury Ale House, we sold Websters, Webster Choice or Wilsons. The Wilsons was like cat pee!! Only 1 or 2 people drank it. We also sold crates of Holsten Pils at £1.09 a bottle (1988-89)

    Electric cars.

Yes,m so obviously good points. Why then do petrol stations have sandwich bars, coffee machines ect? These make up a fair ching of their profits. So it would be easy to set the EV chargers needing to be authorised inside the station thus ensuring footfall and impulse purchases. So I think the...
