    Why the fear of using plastic bottles that had infected wine

    In them? The inside is smooth. I washed them in the machine, and there isn't a foul smell of them. I will rinse them with Starsan, and they are as good as new.

    Shaking of carboy to get the bubbles out

    Hello :) Last time I did that until there wasn't more carbohydration, after I added yeastkiller. Left if over night and added clearer. To my suprise there was still carbohydration in it. How much do you shake it, and over how many days?

    What alcohol content without adding sugar?

    The instruction says it will be 15% if I add 1kg, and 17% if I ad 1.5kg, but if I don't add anything what will it be then? If I add sugar the fermentation will take 5 days longer, and I haven't got time for that. :)

    Cider down the drain :(

    Opened a bottle I bottled 3-4 days ago. The smell was terrible, and the taste too. I almost puked. I used water from the shower hose. Read that the showerhead can be full of bacterias. I removed the showerhead before filling water, but can it be that the showerhose is full of bacterias too?

    Bag in box, and sediments if it isn't super clear

    Read that the wine has to be super clear and filtered or else when you tap the wine it will be full of sediments. Is that correct? Luckily it was online I bought it, so I can return it if so.

    Added three liters too much water to a 21 liter batch

    It's a peach wine kit. Added 1.5 kg sugar when making it for higher alcohol content of 17%. Should I add more sugar? Thanks in advance! :)

    I brew cause I can't afford spending money buying alcohol anymore. It's very expensive here in Norway. Will start brewing beer again soon.
