What happens to hop aroma during boiling (if anything)?

Let's say you have 100g of aroma hops. Does it make any difference when you add the hops to the boil on the total amount of aroma in the beer? In other words, do you get the same amount of aroma whether you add them at the beginning of the boil, or during a post-boil hop stand? BTW, I know that...

What do you do with beers you don't like?

I made an IPA at the start of this summer which I dry hopped in the keg. It was fine for 2 weeks but after that I got big grassy flavours and dumped it. We all make mistakes and I replaced it with a cracking beer a few weeks later.

Force carbonation pressure v Serving pressure

That makes sense, but it means I'll need different beer line lengths depending on the beer carbonation. Is that right?

Force carbonation pressure v Serving pressure

Hi all. If I force carbonate an ale in my keg at 5.5 psi at 4 degrees and then change the pressure to serving pressure at 12psi, presumably I'll end up over carbonating my beer (I leave my gas lines connected, as a rule). How do you guys get round this issue?

Strange taste from my 2nd hand beer engine

Hi all. I recently bought a second hand Angram pump which pulls through fine. However, the beer in the line has a woody/metallic taste until I've pulled through about a pint. Then it tastes fine until the next session. I've cleaned it with pipeline cleaner. Any ideas how to fix the taste?

CO2 purging barrels/cornys. How do you do it?

I was thinking about the water v starsan question. I'm not sure that I want to dump 19 litres of starsan away just to get an O2 free keg. But then method 1 uses a lot of CO2. How about filling the keg with water, and then displacing it with CO2 gas. To sanitise, pressurise a plastic coke bottle...

Do you remove the boil hops after the boil, or not?

I was brewing a beer with various boil hop additions and a hopstand addition which got me thinking. Should I remove the boil hops from the hop spider after the boil but during the hopstand, or add the hopstand addition to the boil hops? It seemed sensible to remove the boil hops but I'm not...

    Hi from Stanmore, Middlesex

Hi all.I've been brewing for about 5 years now. Classic route through homebrewing having worked my way up from kits to full grain, bottles to kegs but I'm always learning. I've just bought a Fermzilla so now I'm entering another world of pressure fermenting. Still loving the hobby and I'm...
