Thanks very much gents. Your assistance is appreciated once again.

    Old Hops

They are hop leafs as opposed to pellets if that makes any difference...

    Old Hops

Hi folks. Got a Geordie Scottish Export on the go just now. I have got some hops in the fridge that have been wrapped in clingfilm. They've been there for a couple of weeks. I realise that they will have lost some of their potency but do I have to worry about anything else?Should I make a hop...

Bottling my first brew (Coopers Australian Lager)

Aye mix up the sediment. No splashing though. It will be fine. Its a common thing to do with a stuck brew.

Bottling my first brew (Coopers Australian Lager)

Give it a gentle stir with a sanitised spoon. Leave it a couple more days. TBH I have had a couple of kits that stuck around there and no amount of rousing got the yeast going again. I think I narrowed it down to not aerating the wort enough in the beginning. My latest kit has not...

    Pressure Barrels

Never thought about drilling it. The lid does have a sort of domed cap right in the centre, I'm not sure if it is supposed to come out or not. Looks about the right size for an S30 valve.

    Pressure Barrels

That's exactly what it's like. That's braw, it may be old but it's useable. The boots one has a much larger lid, I'm sure when I first looked I could only find 2inch lids...

    Pressure Barrels

Thanks. I'll either bin the boots one or could probably use it as an FV... The wee co2 bulb just seems to push in. Is that it and it maintains the pressure itself? The other end has a thing you can undo. Underneath is a spring....As you can tell, I don't have a clue.

    Pressure Barrels

Hey folks, time for another stupid question or two: I got these pressure barrels off someone who had them lying around in their garage. I hope to use one (or both) of them at somepoint. But I need to know what I need before I can use them. The seals have gone brittle so I will have to get new...

    Fyne Brewery

Had a few beers at my local wetherspoons last night. Enjoyed them all but particularly liked 'Jarl' and 'Vital Spark'. The vital spark is apparently a dark mild. Not something I've tried before but YUM!

How to Cultivate yeast from a bottle of Westons Old Rosie

That's my cider fermented out. Racked it to a clean FV and stuck it in the attic to forget about for a few months. Collected the yeast so going to get another on soon.

    Brewmaker Best of British IPA

Bottled this today. Must say it tasted a bit watery... hopefully it will improve with age.

    What's Next.

Hmm that's a fair point. Although I am struggling for somewhere for any kind of cold conditioning never mind lagering.

    What's Next.

I've brewed a couple of kits, some TC's and WOWs but now I want to look ahead at how to improve my brews. Problem is, I don't have a large amount of cash so can only do a bit at a time. So I am trying to figure out what to do first. Brew fridge and some type of temperature control and continue...
